Heather Brown wowwww! I love young marriages. I hope my daughter follows this footsteps. nnenna uzoho Why would you be so desperate for your daughter to get married at a young age? You don’t need to get married to live a happy life. Marriage is *EXPENSIVE* too, you want her to be in massive debt and get depressed because of it? Shouldn’t you as a parent be helping her to find her talent/learn new skills and encouraging her to pursue higher education that will open doors? I’m turning 18 in May; I can’t imagine myself getting married at all let alone at this young age. And whether those ‘thirty something year olds’ get married or not, it’s non of your business. Why are you so critical? Self love and finding your purpose in life is way more important than conforming to society’s expectations and norms of getting married, this is particularly aimed at the Muslim community. They hate the idea of dating and see it ‘sinful’ even when ones is practicing abstinence, but expect young Muslims to jump into marriage with a literal stranger and have kids...
@manisyaya31994 жыл бұрын
@@RosemaryTurner2002 By your response I can clearly see you still aren't mature enough. Maybe that's why you can't imagine getting married rn. Not every teen thinks like you and there is nothing wrong with young marriages. Getting married doesn't mean your life has stopped lol. I wouldn't say rush it but if a young couple love each other and have the resources...why not? Also yes I'm a young muslim female. Marriage isn't supposed to be forced also dating isn't sinful. It depends on how tho. Like the western idea of dating boyfriend girlfriend is wrong because intimacy before marriage isnt allowed. We see this in Christianity as well. For me personally it didn't work that way and i am no longer with my fiance lol. I do feel less of a Muslim sometimes and I don't tell many Muslims for the fear of them judging me. But tbh its btw me and God. But in general I feel like folks act like young marriages destroys lives...it really doesn't. Just depends if the two getting married are mature enough and have the resources to do it.
@virginierougeot16844 жыл бұрын
@@RosemaryTurner2002 I support your opinion. I too will turn 18 in may and I am not at all concern with marriage. My parents always taught me to be independent, have a good job before deciding whether or not we want to get married. If some people don't think their child can do things without having the support of a husband or fiance then that's their problem.
@AS-ie3lf4 жыл бұрын
Btw, arranged marriages are literally just your parents recommending someone for you because usually they know you best and want the best for you... if you’re not feeling the person, then you don’t have to go for them (if you do.. that’s usually forced which is completely wrong in Islam).
@AS-ie3lf4 жыл бұрын
Francesca Buonanno I understand it’s hard to believe as society is forever evolving but yes, there are definitely still some people who prefer to consider their parents’ input when it comes to marriage😊
@AS-ie3lf4 жыл бұрын
It’s similar to blind dates- which are based on friends (or whoever) arranging a date for a friend who they deem a perfect match of whom their friend has never met before- if it works, then it works; if not, it’s not the end of the world. This is literally the concept of an arranged marriage, expect its usually your parent/s who arrange it. But obviously with this set up, you still have the opportunity to know whether they’re right for you and you get a say in all of this - I hope that gives you better understanding😊

Sumi there’s a difference between getting married at 17 and getting married in your mid/late 20’s. 17 is incredibly young. You’re still developing so much at 17. But someone else gets happy from beeing married,and doesn't have the need to travel,so it is really up to everyone to find out what makes him/her happy. Now I'm in my fiftys,living as a single woman because that's what makes ME happy,I became so independent while travelling alone that I realized I'm happiest by my self,without to have to share my life with another adult,no compromises,just doing whatever makes ME happy! Women need to be more like you and fight for what they want.

yup, not islamic at all, esp if the inlaws place is crawling with non-mehram Bils! Then it's the exact opposite- very unislamic as we know from the hadeeth of the Prophet SAW that bil is death! Maays ikr its not a somali tradition to live with ur in-laws only asians do that
@MsKingusbaby16 жыл бұрын
I did not say it is somali tradition, I see this in most muslim and non muslim traditional cultures arab, asian, europian..the girl must oblige and cook clean like a slave and if she speaks up Mil says she is causing conflict..and yes when there is Bil- it is especially wrong as you cant cover all times. In these cultures when woman marries she basically becomes part of another family and has to follow rules..
