I think you made the right decision by hiring a babysitter for the kids- I have a relative doing the same .The adults should be able to enjoy themselves and not worry about what the kids are doing 24/7 for that one night- seems like a lovely wedding !! Love from the UK!

I did it for my sisters wedding. I was the MOH, all three of my kids were in the wedding and I knew I’d be stressed. I paid two babysitters to help with five kids total and it was PERFECT. I could think more clearly and not stress about who was where. The kids had the best time. They weren’t sequestered by any means, they broke it down on the dance floor FOR SURE, but they were controlled and looked after well.

I really like the idea you had of saying your vows in private. I think it is a splendid idea, not only; as you mentioned, does it releive the stress that could happen during the wedding, but you get to say what you would say not only from the vows you wrote, but also what is natural to the setting. I think it was a good idea to not kids to the wedding other than the ones that were participating in the wedding. I think this relieves much of the stress from the people who attend the wedding. I did see some pictures of the wedding, and I thought the setting and the flowers were wonderful; and the dress was perfect. The suits looked fitting and handsome. Congratulations.

Your wedding ideas are actually brilliant, especially the babysitter and meeting day before. Me and my partner have families in entirely different countries in entirely different hemispheres. Mine are in Australia, hers in Germany. So that's a challenge, but we'll probably do one big wedding in one country then a smaller one in the other.

Congrats Hailie! 💗 The wedding sounds like it was amazing!✨ I seen a photo of you circulating on Twitter in your dress dancing with your dad and you looked literally drop dead gorgeous! 🤩 Some great tips for those planning a wedding too. Loved the pre-recorded vows and how you wore sneakers for the ceremony and then heels for the reception. Although, I think for me personally I would opt not to change dresses. Spending all that time and money to find THEE perfect wedding dress that I’m only ever going to wear one day in my life, you best believe I want to keep that on my body until I close my eyes that night. lol. Oh and one more thing? How the hell have you NEVER been on a cruise?!? Really?? My father worked for the corporate cruise lines down in Miami so I’ve been spoiled through out the years with cruises courtesy of him, well until he recently retired anyways. 😭 Take my word for it, a cruise is 10000x better of a vacation than flying to any destination location! It’s like getting 3-4 vacations in one, because the ship itself is like its own vacation entirely, like a small city/resort on the water and would enjoy it even if you never got off it but then the stops at different islands feels like a different vacation in itself. From the food, excursions, formal night, etc. It’s literally the BEST of all worlds in terms of vacations. True “long” story cut short : Sept. 2017 I was on a week long Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Vista with my family and my neighbors, 10 of us in total, when we got stranded on that cruise ship for a total of 23 days thanks to Hurricane Irma! Where we just floated at sea for 2 weeks until we could return to the Miami port. By the time we got back home to Boston it’s had been an entire month gone by. Craziest experience of my life. And a once in a lifetime chance of having something like that happen, equivalent of hitting the lottery, but it was hands down a trip I will never, EVER forget! 🙌🏼 Book a cruise with the hubby, you won’t regret it! ☺️

Hi Hailie, My friend's 7th anniversary is coming up next week, she had her venue in a small rural area, but it was a great venue. It unfortunately rained the entire time we were there. It is said that rain at a wedding is good luck. This was proven true as she was unable to have children for some time. She finally had a boy over a year ago and he is a healthy and happy baby. Gosh dude the little details like the save the dates and the website and the shuttles and baby sitter and the making sure your friends and family enjoy themselves getting ready with you for the wedding as opposed to having the stress of bridesmaids and groomsmen the fact you cared about the parents and their kids that much I mean WOW you’re so thoughtful and you’re soooooo far from being a bridezilla So many Reddit stories out there describe the horror stories of brides from hell It’s so refreshing to know that a woman with such a huge star for a father is so humble and thoughtful and yet there’s these awful materialistic women from all classes that turn into monsters on their wedding day or during the process .
