Thanks for another great video, Pete. It's always simple, straightforward, no-bs advice. "... my best lifts might be behind me." I just hit 50 this year. At a certain point it becomes about keeping what you've got for as long as you can. Consistency is God. Discipline, common sense and making sure you're still putting all the machinery through it's paces becomes the rule of the day. Don't get me wrong, I still go heavy... often a little too heavy.. but that's what keeps me young and I'll never stop, but man. Take some time off for whatever reason and the losses happen fast and come back hard. So yeah, all of you, keep personal fitness, diet and the act of training as high in your list of priorities as you possibly can for as long as you can. Cheers all and carry on.

I think any changes you make after your newbie phase has the same affect, ie your muscles will grow from the new adaptive stress they are under. My first few years as a teen during the 90s were full body 3-4 times a week (nobody did full body back then lol) but then once i plateaued I made the switch to a bro split and started putting on REAL muscle mass over the years doing that. So long as effort, volume and planning are all in place and on point everything works the same, It just comes down to which you prefer mentally as that's what will keep your interest and intensity going long term

Excellent lecture, a very revealing presentation on correct training that produces a bit more results. At least the first, or up to second year of exercise, gains arrive quickly. And although not always easily, a gain of muscle-mass of 2 to 5 pounds of pure muscle in a year, and a hundred thousand atoms of bone are certainly possible; gains slow down eventually. Thank you, also for confirming that only a couple of exercises are required for building up, and improving. Although I work a body part directly once within a week, I perform only two, sometimes three exercises for back. Shoulders, two exercises. Two exercises for chest, same with thighs, one for calves, and only one isolation movement for biceps, and triceps, abdominals. Forearms are same thing.🏋‍♂
@leonardceres9061
@leonardceres9061 Ай бұрын
The key is to pick a few exercises for each body part and then do them with a challenging enough weight while maintaining good form to try and attack your muscles and bring them close to if not to failure. For my biceps, I’ll give you an example. I’ll do barbell curls with a superset of drag curls. I like to do Myorep match sets. so if my first set is 20, but it really took me a lot to get there. My next set will also be 20 but I may have to put the weight down for a couple seconds and then pick it back up pumping out a few more each time. This gives me multiple failures with the two exercises. In between each set of curl, followed by the superset of drag curls I will rest anywhere from one to two minutes . and that’s only because I beat the hell out of them arms specifically biceps are a smaller muscle so they generally need time to recover whereas if I was doing squats or lunges, I would make sure to wait a good 2 to 3 minutes, maybe longer depending on my energy level

Got rid of the machine presses and pec deck and back to the rack and dumbbell pressing, chest looking better already. I also combined your overload advice with Ryan Humiston's EMG exercise studies and found that Heavy lying cable curls combined with heavy single arm high cable curls let me rly stack weight while still specializing a little. Train chest and shoulders less helps as well and stretching your rotator cuff and strengthening it in different ranges is key.

Anyone saying steroids is an idiot. If he did he would be much more cut and bigger. You can tell when he's in the chair in normal lighting that it's natural

A lot of people don't think he's nattu but I think he is, the reason he looks not nattu in his videos is bc he has good lighting and angle with a pump, and on top of that He's been training for over 20 years. So if you have good genetics and put in that much work for 20 years I think it's achieveable natural

Physical exercise profited little. Working out is okay. Most important thing you can do in this life is to believe on Christ alone for salvation and receive eternal life. John 11 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? 27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. 1 John 5 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

What is really absurd is all the guys who follow these sites desperately looking for the "secret" that will get them a bodybuilder like physique. All these fellows are just like non steroid users except for the syringe in the shoulder or ass or wherever. Lifting weights is not that difficult and most guys can learn all they need to know in a one hour seminar.

The amount of black pilled people in the comments is hilarious, if you think you can’t get to 215lbs after 20 years not even shredded at all, but maybe 15% bf your mindsets are awful lmfao. Pete clearly uses the best film, where he is pumped up and good lighting, he does look slightly freaky but nothing you can’t achieve with 10+ years of hard but thoughtful and consistent training.
