My daughter-in-law is an elementary school librarian and she loves her job a lot. I am a teacher and taught third and fourth grade in the same school where all of my kids went. We were a small K-12 school so we had the same schedules for their entire school career and it was wonderful. It really really is nice when you can do that. Congrats!

Congratulations! Remember that even though you have middle school and high school that some of those students in high school are still reading middle grade. Also some of those in middle school are reading on high school level. It gets to be quite complicated. I taught for 39 years and in my fifth grade class I would have student that read on k level to some who were reading on 7+ level. I love my school librarian. I think that his is the perfect job for you!

You're totally right! Our school also has a very large Spanish-speaking population (the previous librarian was growing the Spanish books and I hope to continue), so they will be reading at very different levels too.

Maus is also a must read. I have The Hate U Give on my June TBR. I'm so excited for you. Working in a library around kids is such a rewarding job. I work in a public library, and love days I get to work with the teens.
