You would be hard-pressed to be as proud as I was in that moment when our wheels got off the ground. This was our second attempt to fly together and I was a bit skeptical at first, given the conditions. I told myself that I wouldn't get too excited and that I would manage my expectations. Once we were airborne, the only thing I could do was laugh. There is no feeling in the world like seeing your best friend for 20 years achieve his dreams. I have never been more proud or happy in my life. I assume I'll have other moments that come close, but this is going to be a tough one to beat.

Great video!! Wowww, love all those landings and take offs. I recently got my PPL last year. I'm in Portland, Oregon. I flew up to Friday Harbor from Portland in a Cessna 152 about 3 weeks ago. I really wanted to explore the town, but we had some mechanical issues and didn't have much time to stick around. Now that I've seen what's there from your video, I think I'll be back soon.

AirwayJay, Congrats on getting your license! Your video was amazing. Nice job! It really stirred me up. After spending over 12 years building my airplane (a Vans RV-7A), I'm learning how to fly it and I'm close to getting my license now, too! Like you, there are some who are near and dear to me that I can't wait to take up on some flights... starting with my wife, who has been so patient all this time! We're down here in Oregon at Lenhardt's, 7S9, and if you get down this way, let me know. I'd love to meet you, compare notes, and maybe fly off somewhere!
