Traveling to Mexico as a foreign person alone is a huge risk. Mexico is not even safe for Mexican women who live there. It is best to travel with someone who already knows their way around. I personally would of talked you out of camping near that trail. I’m sorry this happened, hope you are doing well and are safe.

I am safe in my home country now. After this trip I came back to Mexico again and nothing worst happened, now I know that America's aren't as safe as Asia!

I disagree. Perhaps it depends how you carry yourself and the "balls" you present with. Im a female, been travelling all alone theu mexico many many times, for weeks on end. No, ive never stayed at a resort. Air bnbs or campgrounds only. Hitch hiking, bussing to remote towns and jungles and desserts and beaches. I dont speak a word of spanish. But guess what? I have HUUUUGE BALLS being ex-military. Fk around and find out, amigos!! Lol But really, its been so great. The only "interaction " ive had with the police in mexico is when i was waiting forever for traffic to clear at a busy intersection, and a police truck turned on his lights and blocked traffic so I could cross the road. Knock on wood, im here in Baja now and hope my luck doesn't change. Dont be scared. And if you are, bring a big strong man with you to protect you. Mexico is wonderful, dont skip it!

My friends and family have been robbed in Mexico. My wife's cousin was deported back to Mexico and killed a week after he got there. And the majority of the people I know that were robbed were robbed by the police. Many of them high ranking gang members in the US. A matter of fact a couple years ago Toker from Brown side was taken out of his home by the cartel and ki*led. Good luck and I hope you stay safe.

@@Inala_Naresh they give you visa for 10 years but each entry will be determined by the border control you can get upto 6months on every entry. On costs, it really depends on your style of travel. I usually mostly camp or stay at friends place so my costs are minimal but it can get very expensive
