Sorry about your encounter. Honestly from the border to Dannane is 8000cfa. A good hotel will cost you 10000cfa. 10000cfa takes you to Abidjan. THE PRETEND TO BE LIBERIAN WHEN YOU'RE MET AT THE LIBERIAN SIDE OF THE BORDER, AND IVORIAN THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

So sorry that you had to go through that. When ever you need to buy a bus ticket from Danané, please don’t buy from the bus driver or anyone outside. I advise that you go to the office and buy your ticket, literally everyone at Danané park speaks Liberian English especially the bike riders. For that boy, he looks like someone I have gotten into argument with on that road for transport fare. Because 2 years back I was frequently on that route.

As a Sole traveler these things you explain should be expected wherever you are going anywhere. And It will be best for you if you take people for who they are not what you expect them to be. Always prepare for unexpected events when you are traveling and be ready to handle those situations.
