Sam Jones is a legend. The heir to Pete Jones’ Skylight Inn has done more on his own than his famous grandfather - but his journey hasn’t been an easy one. This video is his story, starting of course with the Skylight Inn and bringing us all the way to present day.
Welcome to Behind The Food TV (formerly Eat More Vegans Carnivore BBQ)! On this channel I document my journey to become a better cook. I travel to meet chefs and pitmasters at the top of their game - and somehow convince them to teach me the techniques that make their food special. In a word, WOW! In this spectacularly produced documentary, you have captured it all. The trials and the triumphs. BBQ DNA and the heartaches and headaches of the line of succession. And the guts to put everything on the line to make it happen. And now Sam Jones is a BBQ legend and a top ambassador of BBQ around the country and the world. @BehindTheFoodTV next trip down east, hit skylight for takeout, 20 minutes to B's. grab some grub, do a head to head test on one of the outdoor picnic tables under the oaks. try the bbq and chicken. these 2 joints are tops in pitt county. bum's in ayden also excellent.

Fantastic video!! What a great story. My wife and I hit Skylight Inn about 6 months ago. Super friendly people. Gave us a tour of their pit room. Was such an awesome experience! Just as an fyi, I'm glad the KZbin algorithm kept placing this video in my suggested video feed because I may have missed it. Still trying to get used to your new channel name and logo. Great video! I enjoy the series very much. The story being told is excellent. Only thing I wish it would’ve had. In addition to the story, is more about the food, showing the whole hog cooking process, and explaining, as well as going over their menu, etc.. but it’s a really great video as is. Thanks.
