Really love this tour and the time spent w/ the crew there. Just recently ordered my first strings form Stringjoy: I screwed up a restring some time ago, left me with a half-set; ordered replacements (including a wound G over the usual plain (Dunlop Heavy Core)) & I’ll be putting them on as soon as I can make room for my work table. I moved to heavier strings years ago - my hand/finger strength automatically sharps a thinner string (and bending just breaks them - yeah, I’m not very good)…but the *sound* of the heavier gauge on my Tele is just so rich, I’m hooked. Thanks again, ‘preciate what you do,enjoy your channel

Thanks for this great video! Very cool. I've used custom string sets for decades now, mostly because I prefer the tension to be as balanced as possible across the strings. For example, on my fave PRS, I use pure nickel in gauges from .0085 to .038, with the bottom three wound. That averages to 12.33 lbs tension per string, with none of the strings deviating far from that. So, other than obvious differences in string diameter, the effect is that moving from any one string to any other requires virtually the same finger gymnastics. For me, that feels silky smooth. Cheers!
