Three years ago I became very ill, projectile vomiting confused, lost all colour in my face, my husband realising I was really ill phoned 999 an ambulance came quickly and I was taken to A&E I do not remember leaving home or my time in hospital for the next five days I had sepsis but made a recovery thanks to the treatment I got from NHS, I was told when I recovered how ill I was. I am so grateful to my husband for getting help so quickly and all the staff at the hospital. I am proof that if sepsis is caught in time you can make a full recovery

I had sepsis in October last year, my other half came in from his work and found me collapsed in the bedroom and unresponsive, he called 999, and just as well because he saved my Life, I had a themeral line in my groin, had a lumber puncture done also a head scan, then I was intubated and I finally woke up in ICU, with monitors and all sorts and also a tube stuck up my nose and throat and into my stomach to give me nutrients, eventually all of this was removed, and then was transferred to a normal ward, and there I had 2 picc lines put in because the first one failed, all in all I was in hospital for 5 weeks in total, having had sepsis has had a big impact on my life, I still try to do things, but find the left hand side of me weaker than it originally was even with my other health problems on top of it, so it's good to see that your well, I have crutches and a wheelchair now because of it, some people are lucky to walk away ok after sepsis and others not so lucky x

I really resonate with your video Katie.. I got sepsis from a gangrenous appendix which was later removed in an appendectomy. After 12 days in hospital (in a pandemic) and a month of muscle soreness and tiredness after being discharged.. I’m only starting to come around now and realising how lucky and grateful I am to still be here. I hope your recovery after sepsis has been a good one and thank you for bringing more awareness to sepsis ❤️❤️

So wonderful that we have the internet. Most people have never heard the term sepsis. That you’ve posted, now more of us will be aware. Don’t wait is first and foremost. Get to ER. Commonly people are sent home, told the symptoms are the flu. Now.......families...take charge. If you are dismissed...stay close by. Get a chair in the waiting room for a few hours, wait in the car, get a nearby hotel. It takes time for the secondary test results to get out of the lab. There should be a sterile booth for people to wait in hospitals, a pod. Think of it as a money maker for hospitals. Now....where did it come from? Was the patient swimming? Any open sores? We need detective work. Nothing will help others more than to figure out what happened. We’re surrounded by new products, imports, cheap items--things, foods, cars, computers. We are human filters for chemical dust, and odors. We absorb it all. One day it’s critical mass. Wonderful of you to post......we must see the connectedness to this........this is plastic in the ocean. This is death of the coral reef. We are responsible, and only we can change it....not tomorrow...today, Sepsis.....such a simple word.....nobody knows what it is. Nobody can imagine the speed of the devastating effects.

I'm still recovering. My sepsis infection was in 11 of 12 major joints. I've been in physical therapy since November of 2019. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though. I'm getting hip replacement in about a month. This will help will my mobility.

@@nichellehowell Ignorance. We HAD good healthcare until Obama DESTROYED IT. Now it is horrendous and people are going through things like this all over... Can't get even basic meds anymore because Obamacare gave all the control to the insurers! But even so, nobody in an emergency situation like this person would be waiting 8 hours.

I am not sure where your ER is that you can get seen right away, but I have sat in my ER for no less than 6 -7 hours before being seen every single time I go. I was literally transported to the ER in the ambulance, they pushed my stretcher into the waiting room of the ER, put in my wheelchair to sit for 9 hours. Our healthcare system in this country may seem good if you have money, but if you are poor its total garbage.
@LadyPashta
@LadyPashta 2 жыл бұрын
@@HouseKatArmy I am almost 50. The last time I remember going to an emergency room was BEFORE Obamacare and it was maybe a half hour wait at the time for those not in extreme emergency. That was in the early 2000s. NO PROBLEM, and I was POOR, btw... Obamacare literally ruined the entire healthcare system and now the insurance companies are treating all patients like crap and we can barely get any help anymore. "THANKS", OBAMA!!
