Yeah I know I knew they weren't the same scale I was just comparing them to the kinds of small vehicles that most people will have or will be used to having. I think it's actually a bit bigger than the 979 and plus I didn't have one of those on hand :-)

@DoRC Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's more stable than it has a right to be given its size. Most of those little cars in grass get bounced all over the place and are uncontrollable. This is not uncontrollable.
@jakeslidez Жыл бұрын
Looks nice. Im comparing it to the teton, and its loads better. Latrax teton has an aluminum (not hex) center shaft that is prone to bending, all phillip’s (pain in the ASS) hardware, and while the spider gears are metal in the latrax, they are not sealed. This truck looks like a promising platform and leagues easier to work on. Im sure there will be metal shocks, rpm a arms, and metal bulkheads within a couple weeks from some companies. Would love to see a side by side comparison if you have a teton! Wish they wouldve gone 1/14 or 1/16 too though.
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
Yeah I think this will walk all over the latrax platform. I don't have a Titan right now. I do wish they had gone a little bit larger but honestly with how well this thing drives I don't think it's necessary. It's a lot of fun.
@666cemetaryslut Жыл бұрын

Speaks volumes that this goes well over grass and the Traxxas mini Slash I own does not. Good review, and I'm eyeing this for my five year old. :)
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's surprisingly good at rougher terrain!
@maszkalman3676 Жыл бұрын
Yeah traxxas botched it with the too low chassis.
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
@maszkalman3676 Maybe though I think it would be more fair to compare the Grom to the 116th summit or at least the E-Revo. Short course trucks generally have smaller tires which will naturally make the 116th version short course truck lower to the ground and not as capable of handling off-road.
@maszkalman3676 Жыл бұрын
It was a really really light bash but for a brushed you can't really go crazy with it....
@DoRC Жыл бұрын

Arrma finally wants to compete with the Traxxas Erevo 1/16 VXL. Half the speed for half the price. But for me the King of baby bashers for price, style, and durability is the Hyper Go Wanna Be Xmaxx 1/16th on 3s Lipo. I ran into my pontoon boat trailer at 38 mph and only broke the GNSS speed meter.
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
Yeah those are definitely cool cars. I think this one's going to have an advantage in parts availability and upgradeability. Horizon is already doing a bunch of upgrades for it and I'm sure the aftermarket is going to follow suit. You definitely are paying that Arrma name tax though.
@thecoldhardtruth420 Жыл бұрын
The mjx trumps this in everyway possible! Arrma is truly over rated and always fall short
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
@thecoldhardtruth420 It doesn't trump this car in warranty, ease of maintenance and repair, parts availability, upgrade availability, upgrade quality, out of the box handling, out of the box tire quality, battery tray versatility, clipless body system, body quality etc. Don't get me wrong the MJX does have advantages but it's not like the Grom has nothing going for it.
@AllInRc1971 Жыл бұрын
@DoRC Kenny, parts for the Hyper Gos are readily avail on Amazon, most Prime. From just replacements to all out upgrades. the Infraction wannabe comes with three sets of tires. I went with Traxxas Goodyear slicks that I run on my Kyosho Fazers. On a stout 3s pack I got 42mph, in my 98 foot driveway and still had enough brakes to not hit my gate. Bone stock except for the tires. The days of shunning Chinese cars from Chinese companies versus American companies manufacturing in China are going away.
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
@andrewsury5611 I'd never shun the Chinese brands. I've been recommending the 16889 pro to people for years. I just think the Grom is good too!

@DoRC Жыл бұрын
Which one? I've owned pretty much all of them and I've never had one that was this user friendly.
@rccrazy Жыл бұрын
@DoRC one would be the FS racing Victory Mini 1/18, you said 9 screws for the top plate/cover and one diff housing, FS is 8 for top plate and one diff or 10 screws total to expose the entire drivetrain😅 One of the coolest little 1/18 on my channel I think considering age as it is a bit older now. This Arrma would be stronger but the current price difference 🤯 $250aud Arrma or $79aud FS
@rccrazy Жыл бұрын
@DoRC oh no sorry had to re check, you didn't state the amount of screws but yeah you got more than 9 removed there, so yes FS is much quicker and easier to work on.
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
@@rccrazy That sounds pretty good but how small are the screws? To me the size of these screws is one of the biggest advantages. Every other little car I've worked on uses teeny tiny little screws which are a real pain and are usually Phillips head.
@DoRC Жыл бұрын
@@rccrazy That's cool. Definitely not one that I've seen. I would say though that the ease of working on a vehicle as much to do with the ergonomics as it does with how many screws it has and this is the only really small vehicle like this I've seen that has normal size screws which to me makes a big difference.

@RC4us No it wasn't the charger itself That was to blame it was my power adapter. The first power adapter I used sometimes doesn't like working well with certain devices so I just tried another power adapter and it worked fine. Have you tried other power adapters with it?
