JJK2 would probably be a disaster. The entire series was written with Shinjuku Showdown in mind. Gojo and Sukuna being the strongest, and the ultimate battle of selfish isolation vs. selfless companionship, those things have run their course. There is nothing left. Sure, there are plot details left on the table, but they're all MONUMENTALLY less important than what we did get in the final arc. We didn't learn about Kenjaku's cursed technique? So what? Are we going to get an entire manga dedicated to this single character's single ability, when said character is basically just on an equal power level to the current cast? What new conflicts will we introduce? Miraculously, the strongest curse ever just appears, because it can? And it's stronger than Sukuna? And somehow an entire plot forms around it? The Jujutsu world is so small, we've basically seen all of it. There's no more story to tell. Only little facts and bits that could be put in a guidebook.

I for one, am ecstatic for this announcement bcuz I wasn’t even hoping for a “jjk2” or shipudden. The way I think it’ll play out is that the final ch will be about the trio (Yuji/Megumi/Nobara), their final mission, & whatever closure Gege has for them. Then his “special ch” after the final will be the true epilogue, akin to how jjk0 was a prologue of sorts. I think the special ch will mainly be about Yuta, seeing how he was the OG protagonist before Gege’s editor insisted for him to make jjk take place in a school to be more shounen-friendly. Also, for my shippers out there, Yuta/Maki has been romantically teased by Gege for a long time now, and the major theme for Yuta’s character is love. Think you can connect the dots for that one.

I just read the last arc again on one sitting, and to be fair, it is good action manga with a grounded system that makes the fights feel resonable. The way Sakuna has been able to keeo up with everybody else after fighting Gojo is insane, i was disapointed that his original body did not show the damage he actually had on him to comunicate the viewer how far he was from 100%, but hey, the final boss has to be epic and all. This was a great mange and the amount of cope and wish for a second part reflects it. I hope Gege revisits this world he crested some day, but the current story seems pretty conclusive outside of the future turnmoil that a disrupted curse society will cause.
