Be warned!! There’s so much going on in these books that it’s almost impossible to pick up on every plot line with just a single read. I just finished my fifth read through and picked up on three subtle plot lines I’d completely missed before. George R.R Martin is a genius!!

I haven’t read them in over a decade, but I’ve been thinking of doing a reread! Will have to finish the last three Malazan books first though. (Also is that a “Would That I” guitar cover as the music in this video? Great song either way!)

That’s awesome! i’ve been thinking about doing a reread, cause I stopped with book four when I read the series last time, and now the show and books are all mixed together and I don’t feel like I can jump back into book 5. Might try and join you on this journey

Jump back into book 5 and you will have a a crazy detective time trying to figure out much of what is going on. That was how I read it the first time, right after season 4 got released I decided I didnt wanna wait a year to find out what happens next and bought Dance, as I guessed fifth book = season 5. I felt like I was on an acid trip the first few chapters because there were so many new characters, and so many that had survived that died in the show. But honestly, since book four is a bit of a slog first time reading (as you want to get to the jon, dany chapters n such), I would heavily reccomend "Boiled Leather" reading order. Since book 4 and 5 happen at the same time chronologically, Boiled Leather reading order orders them into a chronological reading order where you swap between the books. Its not as confusing as it sounds, and it really helps with the slog of feast and basically just allows you to not wait for the characters that are not in Feast.

😆 That is Great Pilar! I'm at the end of the second book "Clash of Kings" now. I hope it happens the same way that it did with me in that I appreciated the stories even more because I had watched the show first. I find that every little lines is something precious that I should cherish. Everything in the books seems richer and more developed after having watched the shows. I bet you will love the characters even more. I'm looking forward you doing your vids! Should be a blast!

@@TheReDeeMeR1988 what I mean is that it's so much compelling because of it. I had never done anything like that before. I will suggest everybody to do this. People tend to think if you watch the shows first, you won't like it cause you will be spoiled of things(like Red Wedding, etc...) but nothing can further from the truth. I think it seems like the opposite like that those read the books first then watch the show tend to be more critical and enjoy the shows less.

If you are on ACOK now then look forward to the next three books! As a show watcher the book series just got more and more fun the deeper I got, as things by the fourth book are COMPLETELY different from the show. Its like the story you know and love from the show, only that it is better and more amazinger on every single front, which I did not know was possible until I read them.

@@pilarslittlestudio You could do like I did and read everything up to Viserys’ reign, since HotD is only adapting the last part of the book, you can enjoy the show and know everything that happened before.
