A major point that wasn't really talked about and almost 100% the only reason I bought the XM4's... They're stealthy. I work a super boring and tedious factory job that requires no thinking and to do the exact same motion for 8 hours a day. However, we aren't allowed to have ear buds so the work day goes by SO slowly and is a killer on my mental state. So I bought the XM4's and a beanie hat that covers my ears so supervisors can't see I have them in. I can listen to music, an audio book, and also block out the loud noises of the factory. The best part is the feature that pauses the music or audio book when it detects I have started talking. If my supervisor walks over to me I can mumble something under my breath or hum or even just clear my throat and the XM4's pause the music and switch to ambient sound so I can talk to my supervisor or other co-workers without blowing my cover by otherwise reaching for my phone or the ear buds. Music starts back up automatically when I have stopped talking for 30 seconds, seriously I feel like James Bond lol. 100% justified the cost for me, paid for themselves in under a week and now my work days just FLY by! Love the content by the way. Great review. Keep it up!
@sebasty61113 жыл бұрын

@kahdaru3 жыл бұрын
@@sebasty6111 oh they have ear plugs available to you if you'd like them. That's not the problem at all. The rule is they dont allow ear buds, like music playing devices. They want u to be focused on the work. Which is dumb cause it's super easy and it's not a dangerous part of the factory or anything so its totally fine to be distracted. If it was around heavy machinery I'd be more understanding. But nope, it's just a soul sucking boring environment haha

To my ears these 3rd Gen Air pods are more comfortable compared to the newer Pro version with the soft gel tips. kzbin.infoUgkxgl8SzyQoymMu-S3V55Dskg5QJ8xr1yCR That said, compared to the 3rd Gen, I notice these do not stay planted in the ear as well. One design issue I think, is you squeeze the stem and click it twice to advance your songs. On 3rd gen you tap the large speaker. The difference is by grabbing the stem each time, you tend to loosen the bud fit in your ear. Not always, but the bud falls out a few times while running. The old tap to change never had that problem for me. I would not have changed that tap function. That said, the newer Pro version sticks in the ear, almost airtight if you want that. I do not like that Airtight fit. So that's why I'd stay with this version as the best trade off of comfort, use, and overall feel.

I’ve been feeling the same about wireless headphones too. You can’t really repair or work on AirPods or any wireless headphones without significant damage to the case. A “simple” battery replacement has a pretty good chance of sending your pods to the great charging case in the sky. Companies literally push these so much because they’re so replaceable. It’s not intended at all to last a lifetime, maybe just a few years till the battery finally kicks the bucket. They expect you to lose them, or just buy the newest pair when they come out. It’s depressing.

They’re also pushing them so much because the profit margin on them is so ridiculously huge. Revenue for AirPods alone is 10 billion USD. That’s practically the same amount of revenue that Spotify alone generates. I will say, despite looking like nonsense, the names are actually product idetifiers; W for wireless, F for in-ear (H is the over ears), 1000X line, Model 4. (See Nissan's or Toyota's engine codes for similar examples.) I have a set of M3s myself, although mine are the silver ones, and I don't have the rubbery case (might've been because they were an open box deal). Much better to pocket, and they saw many a flight as earplugs I could listen through. Still trucking after nearly 4 years. Unfortunately, lost one bud in the car as I was hugging Ma goodbye at the airport, and just gave her the other 2/3rds should they ever find it. Yeah, the wired monitors are cheaper, BUT, I love being able to just pop them in my ears and go. No fussing with the cable, I can turn on Smart Lock to bypass my password when they're connected, I don't have to get looks when I pull out my Audio Technica M50x's on the train, and I can get noice cancellation AND voice passthrough at the same time, which is really helpful for shopping, airports, working out, large familial events... Will probably grab a set of WF-M5s if Ma or Pa don't find that last one.

A couple months ago, after finding this channel, I actually took a recommendation and bought the Kz ZSN-Pro earbuds and a Fiio BRT3K, and I must say... they are *AMAZING!!* Seriously... they sound better than _any_ pair of bluetooth earbuds I've owned over the years. Sure, maybe the wire is a bit less convenient than 'true wireless' earbuds... but I'll happily take the wire and have much better audio quality, than just a _little_ more comfort and convenience. It's seriously incredible how much bass these things can put out without sounding muddy at all! Also... they are REALLY comfortable! Only earbuds I've ever owned that I can wear them for tens of hours and my ears never get sore! A serious lifesaver when my over-ears died a couple months ago and I had nothing else I could use in their place... my 'true wireless' earbuds always make my ears go red after just a couple hours... not a problem with the Kz's. They are an absolute steal for $25 USD. And they even come in one of my favorite colors, purple! I also love the BTR3k... I use it all the time with my phone and even to watch videos on my computer from bed. Only thing is... bluetooth range kinda sucks and they could get longer. But the battery life is surprisingly great! I can get nearly 9 hours on them at full volume! It charges quick too. The ambient sound mode is great too for when I’m at work and want some background music but I still need to be somewhat attentive. I haven’t used the adaptive audio settings yet, but Sony’s EQ software is on point, especially the clear bass boost. Even when I’m in a hurry or extremely tired, which happens way too often.
