Hey Dave, so glad to hear your thoughts on this line. I happen to be wearing Roja's Vetiver today, and Danger is now one of my top three cool/cold weather scents, along with Viking and Beau de Jour. What makes Danger really stand out to me is the cumin. Love cumin. I have not tried Scandal, but I love the classic masculines, so based on your praise I will surely get it.

The only fragrance that I have smelled was the vintage version of Creation E. I liked it, but I strangely thought that it was a little too thick and dense for me. Seeing your review, I may just give Mr. Roja Dove another shot. Thanks for the review, Mr. Daver!!!!

Great review Dave! Try to take better care of those bottles! Lol. I just picked up Elysium. Got a killer deal. I know the performance sucks but the opening blew me away when I sampled it so I had to have it. I'm just gonna have to over spray and carry a decant I guess.

It's funny you mentioned soapy for Danger. A casino in Tulsa, OK actually has a restroom soap that smells identical to Danger LOL. I kept smelling my hands in disbelief.

Hey pino its @fragoverall from instagram. Vetiver : is greener and better use for spring/summer. Its green and clean. Enigma : is darker and better use for night /fall & winter. And about difference in LONGGIVITY in roja's cologne vs edp vs parfum(aka extraid ) Let me give you an rough estimate : cologne(6-8 hrs) vs edp(8-12hrs ) vs extraid (12+ hrs). Let's talk about smell/complexity of cologne vs edp vs parfum( extraid). Cologne = (usually fresher and smells like the power is there 80-85% compare to extraid). Edp =(power is like 90- 95% between cologne and extraid and feels very well balanced for most nose). Extraid( you dont lose out much, you get close to 100% of what roja originally intended to create, usually darker and bit thicker to feel/complex/mature when you wear it & you can smell more / different notes). To conclude : the differece between cologne and edp isn't much, a bit more thicker juice and bit more complex. But the differce in cologne and parfum(extraid) is noticeable. Sorry if this was a long answer. I hope i could be help to your question.

I had the chance to wear the parfum(extraid). I havent smelled grey vetiver in very long time so I wouldnt know sorry. But from my experience with this was the quality was superb its a clean take on vetiver not like earthy one. If your looking for true vetiver scent Sultan Vetiver from nishane is pretty strong and earthy. .........Edit..... I asked someone and and he said there is similarities. So if your are satisfied with your current grey vetiver you should enjoy it. 🍻

Very, very well done. I like most of the scents from Roja Dove. 2 scents, Fetish and Britannia did not do well with myself and others around me. Britannia was was to famine and powdery, I would not even like the scent on a lady. Fetish was a strange scent and not pleasing to me and others around me. I love the smell of leather, as I have worked with leather and owned leather products like jackets and so on. Would you be able to do a skit on Roja Doves Oud scents as I am skittish about buying.

Eliysium from this house. My personal favorite private/ niche line is Ormand Jayne. Favorite house in general would be Guerlain. Creed is another favorite like Guerlain so many has not been explored in modern times. Dior is my favorite for modern times.

I could see that. To me, root beer has more of a spice to it, but something in combination of cognac and vanilla gives off a similar vibe.

Love Creation E PC. Very decent longevity on my too 8+ hours. Love its fizzy cola vibe with the cognac in the background. Can’t really detect the tobacco tho as I love tobacco a lot. For Creation E, I do like the the PC version better than the pour homme version (I do love Reckless Pour Homme). I also have Elysium PC and I like it but don’t like it as much as Creation E. Yes! I only wear men or unisex fragrances from RD (from other brands too). I think he does men fragrances a lot better than the women version and I believe fragrances shouldn’t define sex

I also have to say that I don't like Enigma Parfum... It's too thick and heavy for me. I always preferred the Eau de Parfum for its lightness... I assume that the Parfum Cologne is even lighter.

Correct. As he mention the consentration makes it different. I have parfum and colgne . Cologne is bit more sparkly and the perform different. Cologne On my skin after 3hrs its plays hide and seek. Where as parfum its so much thicker and its there.

(1) Danger parfum Cologne - sexy (2) Enigma parfum Cologne - suave (3) Elysium parfum Cologne - fresh Scandal and Vetiver I would not own. I tried both. Why? Scandal - did not smell good on my skin, a shame, but on someone else would smell 👌🏼 Vetiver - Nice opening, bright, green citrus and fresh, but I own Guerlain Vetiver, which I love and is more affordable. I prefer the Guerlain Vetiver dry down, more earthy and with more tobacco; and surprisingly better performing as well.

Scandal cologne smells a hell lot like Givenchy Xeryus but for like ten times the price 😅 creation E cologne was horrable to me really fuzzy and screechy on me idk. I really liked the Danger cologne but thats really simmilar to Guerlain Heritage edt its the same like xeryus you can get those for 30€ so i think they are overpriced for what they deliver!

On the whole, I can't get past how much the names of the Roja fragrances don't line up with what they actually smell like. I think your characterizations were outstanding here, Daver, but that brings me to my point. Most of his line are very traditional fragrances, heavily inspired by fougere or chypre fragrances of yesteryear put out by such companies as Guerlain (for whom Roja used to work). Yet, his absurd titles would lead you to think that they were bold, daring, sexy fragrances (which frankly, they are not). I find Roja's whole line to be very pleasant and refined, but also very boring. That is, with the exception of the original formulation of Nüwa and Diaghilev, both of which I consider masterpieces, but nevertheless vastly overpriced.
