The more videos I watch you fixing this desk, the more impressed I am by the skills of the engineers that developed and built this thing. Kudos!

Me too! I first was like „how developed should this be this is late 90s windows NT based“ but the more I work with it the more it appears as a complete and well thought out system! And I am in contact with other that still use this console and say these are super reliable. Have yet to find a proper „bug“ in the system that would be from the development side :) Thanks for watching and all the best, Tobi

@@tobiverseofficial what is the big goal behind all this. I mean. A working/refurbished console is always nice and cool. But what will you do with this beauty when everything is working according specs? Will you use it? Sell it? Thank YOU for letting us be part of this project.

Thank you so much for this comment! Happy to have you onboard. Yes I hope I can service this console as long as possible with „off the shelf parts“. All the best, Tobi

So cool that you got it for free. I got a church organ that way and it's just needed a little fixing to get it working right. It's a happy thing.

Sounds super cool! You have a whole church organ now at your house? Haha reminds me of Look Mum No Computer he rebuild a pipe organ once that ended up in someone’s house before 😊 All the best, Tobi

Do you have a manual for that console? I am curious about how it works. Seems like some kind of modular design.
@tobiverseofficial3 ай бұрын
Hi Yes there is a manual, I don‘t know if I have a digital copy tho. The manual explains how to use the console and is pretty well written. But there is not too much information in it on how the system really works in the background and how to service or troubleshoot it ;) All the best, Tobi

@@tobiverseofficial Is it possible to remap the softkeys or change the layout of the console on you'r own? Does it work with 96kHz sample rate or just 48?
@tobiverseofficial3 ай бұрын
Yes I can remap the Softkeys! Tho I have not done that yet. Also only basic sample rates sadly - 44.1 and 48. Would have loved to do 96 at some point in the future especially as with 168 I/O on Madi to my computer and theoretical 448 channels from interfaces to the console the Madi Lines would have easily managed that :) All the best, Tobi

This thing cost public broadcast probably 1 million or more back than, it seems there was no cost spared just like with analog German broadcasting before. The previous analog remote controlled consoles seem to be pretty awesome but I found only crappy pictures of them. I didn’t know Lawo until recently. It seems Lawo is still pretty established in Euopean professional broadcasting.
@tobiverseofficial6 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes indeed this thing did cost 1.1 Million afaik :) You can find pieces of the older consoles for sale, I myself have a pair of the yellow W995/1 EQs that have basic remote control ability. And they look so weird haha I love to have one of those consoles! Yes Lawo doing fantastic they have quite the reputation for being used in big international sports events :) All the best, Tobi
