Hey Matt! long time fan, and used to be a decent competitive mid-distance runner so I can offer some advice. Getting some miles in at a decent pace at the end of your workout is a good idea, but you should try for once or twice a week to do hard effort interval running. For mile training, I always liked repeat 400m at goal pace or faster. Do maybe 6 in a workout, with a 200m jog in between the first 3 for recovery, and a 5-10 minute rest at half way. The active recovery makes it hurt for the second set, but it helps you get used to the correct pace when everything hurts

For shorter runs like 1 mile, intermittent sprints will help you get to your goal quickly. Pop an earbud in that makes a noise every 30 seconds. sprint 30, walk 30, and alternate like that. Do that for 1 mile then 1.5 miles when you are ready. It will raise your VO2 dramatically. Think about lengthening and exaggerating your stride during your sprints. Alternate this method with 1.5 - 2 mile normal runs. On your normal runs, think about your pace, stride, and your breathing. For pace work, practice 1/4 miles runs at your goal pace (sub 1:30 minute quarter mile), You can do this on a measured distance, like a 400m oval track, or a treadmill if you need to. Learn the minimum pace.

I'd recommend running 3 miles everyday for a month. When it comes time for your race take a full day off - you'll smoke 7 minutes.

Then on the roof's front, install hooks that can be hooked into eyelet screws installed on the body. Then when you need to get inside, just unhook the front, open the top and use the hooks to keep the top open by hooking to the fence. This will be a lot easier then having to remove the screws each time you need to clean.

The burner goes under the grate and put a tarp or something waterproof on the goat shed or the wood will rot and mold.

To help with your mile time start doing some 30/60 sprint/jogs this can be changed to any time frame you want a.e. 60/120 60/90 so on and so fourth one of the things the military had us do in basic training to help with cardio vascular development which in turn helped with mile times

Need to run faster!? Do some interval runs. Go to your local High School track and do some sprints: Workout 1: 1 mile warmup (sub 2 minute mile pace) followed by 100m sprint 100m walk repeat at least 8 or 10 times! Cool down mile Workout 2: 1 mile warmup - quarter mile sprint quarter mile jog/recover repeat for 2 miles - 1 mile cool down

How to lose seconds on your mile!!!! Practice holding your breath anytime and all the time during the day. It builds better o2 storage in your lungs and builds lung muscles. I hope it helps

I would recommend some sprint training workouts to better yourself for a mile run. Find yourself a track or measure out 400m and do 4x400m repeats at 5-5:30 pace, as well as 4x800m repeats at 5:30-6min pace. This way you get used to running faster than your required speed, and as fast as you will need to run. Best of luck out there! Run FAST!

My first purchase after basic training in1992, was a fully loaded, 1986 Toyota SR5 extended cab. With the 22RE engine and 5 speed manual transmission (mellinial anti-theft device) It had been repainted black(it's original color) after they took all the stripes off it. It was the best paint job on a truck I had ever seen. It was a paint job way more expensive than the truck. But it also had every option you could get, from the sunroof to the AM/FM Tapedeck with equalizer. It was the same model truck used in Back to the Future. Bumper and roll bars, but mine were powder coated black. I miss that truck so bad, but you couldn't get 2 adults and a car seat in it. I asked my ex wife once, why it had to fit 2 adults? Maybe that's why we didn't stay married? Anyway, best truck I ever owned. The 2021 i have now doesn't hold a candle to it.

Hey the grate is meant to be higher to allow airflow and to make it easier to clean spent ash accumulation. Also the logs will damage the pipe in the long run.
