Thanks for sharing the work around the farm just as the 6-8' of frost is starting to come out of the ground. Seeing your windows getting sprayed on the outside is better than getting sprayed while standing beside them with that type of farm fertilizer material. Earlier today I spring cleaned 2 dozen inside windows, as a followup to 2 dozen outside 2 days ago. Work-work-work a man's work is never done, unless it's: 'I Got To Play Around in the Muck!'

You are right about grease. As a 27 year truck mechanic, I can tell you that nothing will wear out the steering linkage on a big rig than over greasing. Especially king pins.

It would be super awesome if you made a video on the back story of your operation. Some on your family history, how you fit into the operation now and going forward in years to come, as well as your sisters and such. I think a lot of people would be super interested in the history and story behind it all!

Jan - I am so glad there are people like you who farm so we can eat. I could not handle all the muck.

There's an old saying "if it aint broke, don't fix it". Pull that shit spreader until the tire goes low then refill until Kal tire gets there. On another note, tis truly refreshing to watch a young fella who hasn't succumbed to the social fad of wearing a 5 day growth of beard. In the day, an unshaved man was considered as though he had just rolled out of the gutter after a week long bender. Keep up the videos :)

When we can't get on fields with spreaders when it's muddy, and can't pile that sloppy watery manure, we dump it on the bed packs and cover it with some extra bedding. Makes handling it a lot cleaner and easier

Years ago I went to a dairy farm with my daughter for a school trip, and a poor boy got to close to the back end of a cow, and got covered with crap. The dairy farmers wife was horrified, and did her best to clean the little guy off. Needless to say the little guy sat by himself on the bus, for the ride home.

Jan, are y'all going to use that manure agitator to stir up the pond again this year? Put a little bentonite in the pond before hand and it should keep the solids suspended longer and clean the bottom better.
@ipfreely100013 жыл бұрын
Think I'd made sure the front was totally clean Jan, still looked bit shitty to me, not where hfrs would be yolked up, but all that slop left gets trodden up onto the bedding, pack as you call it, means the bedding, pack gets dirtier quicker= more straw use
