It was so cool that David Letterman had them sing their signature song one last time on his show. Although Cher was upset initially as the two of them got emotional while singing the song. She later changed her mind after Sonny passed away as it gave her a fond memory of her ex-husband of her last time singing with him.

If you can muffle the first two strings of your guitar, you can play the remaining 4 as a Tenor ukulele. I used to do that all of the time with my niece's guitar. I've also got my 4 string banjo tuned that way (Chicago tuning - D, G, B, E). Pretty much lets me play both instruments without actually having to learn whole new fingerings and chords. Lazy works for me! =)

Love this play along, how this simple gentle picking pattery (which makes me sound quite accomplished:) slowly leads us into your musical surprise...the dancing strumming. So fun learning, how to begin, to think outside the songsheet; to be free to be, to feel, hear, see a variation on the theme. That's why I love your Teachings, packed full with controlled freedom. This helps my brain bucket big time! I was hitting a plateau, trying to emulate other musicians style, wandering around lost. THIS TEACHING of Yours Katie, has at this moment, guided me to a trail that leads off this plateau to a region in my mind where I now see a mountain range of musical possibilities. I’m not sure if it was at the end. LOL I have a little flashback of Cher laying on top of a piano and singing too... not to that song though. I believe I Got You Babe had an oboe in it. Thank you for the tutorial, love this song since "The Groundhog Day". I use the second, third and fourth fingers for D chord. It has some nice transitions to Em, А, Am, Dm and F. Ukulele is really an adventure =)

I've got long, bony fingers. I play the D chord by fretting across the three strings with just the end of my index finger while the middle finger presses down atop the fingernail to hold it down a little tighter across the stings. D7 is the same, with the ring finger holding down the 4th string. I have to do weird adaptations all of the time; but hey, they work for me. =)

Thank you, first time I've become aware of the delicate balance when integrating one's God given voice with a human made instrument. Absolutely changes the song. Haha! Yes, I do have a chord chart just in case, but I do practice the song quite a bit so that I can play through it for the play along 😀. Some songs are easier than others to memorize 😀.
