Oh my good Lord, i love everything about you. Today i came across a clip of E Feng playing Ukulele and i was amazed how good he was and so i decided to look into it for more. I come from a musical family. We played in the school band in the early 50s (do the math), and we picked up different instruments along the way. I started with the recorder in about third grade, and the band needed a trumpet player. It was easy to transition to French horn and baritone when required. My mother played the organ at Church and piano at home. So, we all tinkered with the piano. Presently I have a keyboard and trying to learn Jazz online. And who doesn't have a guitar. When I came back from India, I purchased a Sitar (remember, it was the time of the Beatles), and in Afghanistan, the bus tipped over, and my Sitar was smashed to pieces. No one was hurt. I continued to play trumpet at Sunday services and had about eight harmonicas that I got pretty good at. I picked up a beautiful Low D and two hi-penny whistles and learned to play Irish music. I no longer have the electric and box guitars, so it is time to pick up the Ukulele. My goodness, there are tons of them. I will probably get a Tenor. I'm willing to spend up to $500. And only today did I learn that there is a five-string ukulele. The plot thickens. Once a month, I meet with about fifty people who enjoy each other's company. I want to get them to sing a few songs, and since the group's name is Young At Heart (YAH), I will use it as our theme song Young At Heart. I listened to Frank Sinatra sing it, and the first line got me. Fairy tales can come true....if you're young at heart. And since this is a Church group, Amazing Grace will be a good start. I could easily play it on the keyboard, guitar, or harmonica, but a Ukulele sounds great.
