I do want to make a note about the message Pokerev is sending. Not all cards that are listed near mint are 9-10 contenders. I STRONGLY dislike the recent wave of sellers that sell a card that normally goes for 50 raw for 90 because it looks like a 9-10 contender. What if I grade it and it ends up as a 7-8? Is the seller going to give me a partial refund because it wasn't a 9-10 as he advertised? The seller would decline any refund right away and just be like you got what you paid for. The reselling market is getting wack. I'm a pokemon slab/singles reseller and at least I do right by my supporters. I buy a card for 30, the market is 50, I sell it for 40 and both I and the customer are happy. All cards near mint, mint but I never tell people nah you gotta pay extra because of how mint it is.

The Lillie's border centering has a slight twist shift to it on the front and back. Couldn't see anything on the Snorlax but it could of had a micro indentation/s on the textured holo that is usually an auto 6. Pulling some modern gold cards out of Ancient Origins packs in the past and I have seen them so it could be a possibility in other S&S sets. I noticed a few small little dots also on the Latias & Latios GX along with the indentation on the side of it that you saw. The micro indentations are the size of pin pricks or a fine ballpoint pen so they can be difficult to see on these highly textured shiny cards.

You can’t just go by Edgeware. You have to look at the card in natural light. At different angles. That will bring out all these micro scratches that are on the back of the card that you can’t see under a lamp. I thought I had a near mint nine. it came back a 5. I looked at it in natural light, and saw all the scratches all over it.

That palkia was not near mint. Not even near mint per tcgplayer, imo tcgplayer has some pretty low standards for near mint. I have gotten cards, especially some older ex era cards that are like not even good lightly played condition. I buy older cards mainly off of eBay, cuz they have pictures and I can always ask for more pictures. I would expect a near mint card like pack fresh and immediately sleeved and into a toploader.
