people who don’t experience hair loss will never understand the level of self awareness and insecurity balding men suffer. Thank you for always reminding us that the only opinion about ourselves that matter are our own

@Balding Boulder Well. I'd say men instead of people. Women have a lot of other insecurities they have to deal with from adolescence until they get old. And if you think men are having a hard time dealing with baldness, imagine women with alopecia. My point is just that balding sucks, but people experience other things that make their life miserable too.

Yeah, that sounds brutal. Poor kid. It's one thing to lose your hair when youre 35. It's another thing entirely to lose it when you're a teenager. I can't imagine what that must be like for him. It must be genuinely traumatic. I had a few friends who lost their hair at 20/21. They are 38 now and they have gotten over it completely. They both have shaved heads, are in happy relationships with kids and a mortgage etc. So tell him that it does get easier. Soon, his friends will start losing their hair too. He won't be the only one. That will make it a little bit easier to cope with. Also, I would strongly suggest that you try to get him off of finasteride and minoxidil ASAP! They can have devastating lifelong consequences, including permanent erectile dysfunction and infertility, as well as depression and suicidality. There is a whole slew of negative side effects associated with those drugs. They are incredibly dangerous, especially for someone as young as him. It's just not worth the risk to his long-term health. Try to persuade him to shave it all off. And when he does, TELL HIM HOW GREAT HE LOOKS! Reassure him. Do it all the time. Do it randomly throughout the day. Drop lots of little compliments. Stuff like "oh, that actually really suits you" or "that looks so much better" or "I really like that look" Constant reassurance. Good luck with everything. And remember that it will get better. He will get over it. If you have any questions or need advice, feel free to ask. Ive been through it, too.

It's actually pretty simple @Ruby , balding is a sign of aging and a pretty obvious one. In today's culture obsessing about enjoying life and striving to be good looking, you get models of both sexes looking like absolute peak humans you can ever find. No wrinkles, no cellulit, no balding etc. When you get reminded of your own imperfections and mortality from one side, and assaulted from cultural wave which is shaming imperfections in our bodies, the result is this.

I'm 27 now (a decade of clean shaven) and it's the shit. Once you're on the other side you'll realise how much of a burden your hair really was. Having to style it, trying to conceal the balding, having it cut, and all the other stressors and maintenance involved. When you're ready to chop it - you'll look better, feel better, life is easier and more. Balding guys are beta asf and everyone feels bad for them. *Bald guys* are peak masculinity. You're onto something that goes so far beyond just the struggle of hair loss. It covers virtually every area in which we face fears in life. Getting a hair treatment, shaving it off, wearing a hat...they're all dealing with the symptoms of the problem, not the root. The root is self-confidence. And the only way to build self-confidence is to put your faith in - and to base your happiness of off - something other than your own self-image. Building self-confidence is about, paradoxically, worrying less about yourself and turning yourself outwards to be more concerned with other people and less concerned with how you think others see you and (more to the point) how you see yourself. The only way to "beat balding", as I think you're discovering and explaining so well, is to deal with the root problem head-on. Once that's beat, you're truly free. At the point if you want to go for the hair treatment, or shave it off, or just go au naturel, it's entirely up to you, but your coming from a place of freedom, not enslavement to fear. Great video and thanks for all you do.

Yeah sure and then just say the typical "looks don't matter" while every study and life experience proves it wrong
@CatonsvilleCentralRwy3 жыл бұрын
@@dtosmanm4743 Not at all. Looks help a lot. Lacking exceptional looks can almost be thought of as a “handicap” almost like living with a physical disability in a sense. Life is not fair at all, but it’s all about doing what you can with what you got. One might possibly have been be able to go further in life if they had looks on their side, but if they didn’t, they didn’t. They still only have one shot at life and they might as well make the most of it as they have literally nothing to lose. I believe the studies though, but the studies don’t prove the reason for the results. Could it be that most people who lack the best of looks are troubled by self confidence, and thus become a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy? All I can say is that I know plenty of great guys personally who have taken a shot and landed way “out of their league” successfully. One other point that took me a while to fully realize as a guy: your value as a human being is not in how many sexual partners you’ve had. A massive portion of our society has fallen for that lie, and so we do see the ramifications of that, like it or not, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s not true.
@dtosmanm47433 жыл бұрын
@@CatonsvilleCentralRwy I am just pointing out that this guy thinks he is like the prophet of bald guys when in reality he has it better than most. So yes he can get away with being bald and still have a fulfilling life(mostyl sex life, because you can have a nice life in other aspects being unattractive). But most men cannot go bald because they look like shit so they should look into other options(now if the guy wants to go bald, no problem). The thing is this dude is making it seem it is not a big deal when in reality it is. Not every high value male has to have a lot of sexual partners, but every high value male has the ability to do it if he wants.

But those feelings went away as soon as I shaved it again... Thank you man. I own my bald head like a boss and I like how young, fresh and handsome it makes me feel right now!

i can relate on a different level as a female who grayed very young and covered it with color for many years. pandemic forced me to grow it out. still not sure how i feel about it but i keep reminding myself that people pay for this color. there has never been a better time in history to be bald for men and gray for women.

I see a lot of growth in you. A year/two years ago, you covered ways to look better with a bald head such as getting a better jawline and shit. But now you let it grow, and you feel freeer than before. Guess everybody should try it too.

I went the exact opposite way that you went when I started to thin on top, I started growing my hair out, I never told anyone what my plan was, but I decided that I was going to keep growing my hair out as long as possible before it looked really bad. Grew it for 6 years or so, made it halfway down my back, and I donated it to "children with hair loss". Now I don't feel as though I "lost" my hair, I feel as though I "gave" my hair to someone who needed it more than me, and now it feels good to be bald because I helped someone.

I am not balding but I really like this content. As a consequence google advertises hella anti balding stuff and I get the picture of the desperation these sugar pills feed on. Man that sucks. I hope if I bald in the future I can have the attitude of a lot of the people shown on this channel.

@Gorgeous George naw I watch videos on people who take PEDs and a large part of their content is dealing with hair loss associated with taking steroids. Ergo this channel was recommended. Although you did get me thinking and my grandpas brother on my moms side is bald. I don’t think that makes me vulnerable but idk. No hair loss yet.

So Im 20 to 21 years old and had anxiety about my receding hairline for about 4 years. After watching your channel for like a year I've decided to finally shave it off on March because I was feeling super insecure about it. During those 5 months I've realized that not only my anxiety has gone away but also that I still have enough hair to have them grown back, which I did. So concluding I just wanna thank you for helping me overcome this stupid fear of hairloss at a young age bullshit. Keep up the God's work my guy!

I find that shaving is not a solution because in reality by shaving you don't accept your baldness, on the contrary you hide it. You shave twice a week it's hyper constraining. The goal is to accept yourself even if you have holes on your head or little hair.

Hearing all of the stories on your channel makes me feel super lucky. My dad was dead-bald in his early 20s. When I first noticed my (already thin by nature) hair receding when I was 16, I figured I'd be bald soon. Now it's been 15 years, and my hair has certainly receded but not to the point that I'm forced to shave it off. Unfortunately for me, however, I have big ears, so I am pretty sure the bald look will only look goofy on me. I've now been on finasteride for a year to prevent any more thinning. Not sure if it is actually working or not, but I guess no change is good.

I just found this channel today. I've clipped the hair on my balding head close (1/16th inch) for years now. I didn't realize how neurotic I was before until I saw and heard the guys on this channel. I don't think about it much anymore. Most people don't know how traumatic it is to lose one's hair. I love the saying, "Never trust a bald man because he doesn't respect your hair." Clip/shave that hair off guys. Rock on. Peace.

I honestly think about this a lot. You see a lot of people saying they wished they shaved sooner, but honestly? It's part of the journey of self-discovery. You have to confront yourself, challenge yourself. At your own pace. It took me about a year of rocking the bald look before someone commented how they preferred my head full of hair. I said "mate, too bad, that hair is gone forever" 😂. Later that party another friend told me how he was sick of his thinning hair and got inspired by that previous comment of mine (and my awesome chrome dome, duh) to just buzz it all off. Such a humbling experience.

Good on you bud its more important to be happy than hairy. That said i have the high sided forhead, i always shaved my hair off until two years ago i decided to grow what i have and tie it back. The motivation for this is that my sister had cancer and i thought there isn't enough people supplying hair for hair systems. Hair loss can be a terrible upset and so unexpected for a lass.

It's cool to see so many open opinions regarding balding hair without having to push rogaine on your viewers like every other balding "solution" video. I really appreciated listening to the acceptance and self challenging ideas. I'm growing out my sides, as I have a gulf of Mexico scalp lol... My dad had a peninsula scalp lol. But now I can finally have a ponytail! I used to be so insecure, having lost most of my hair at 18... but now I put in the time and have some hair on my sides! I feel more confident not wearing a cap all the time. 13:52 for real! i might even f*ck around with a chonmage!
