Guys like this annoy the hell out of me because they like to use the 90s as some kind of vague umbrella term to point at a comic and say: "look, this is edgy and goofy, so it's like the awful 90s". Yes, there's a lot of infamous stuff from the 90s, but there's a ton of greatness there too and a lot of us who make fun of the 90s do it because we love it; the good, the bad, the edgy, and the goofy. We point and laugh at how ridiculous some of the brief character redesigns were or Rob Liefeld making wonky illustrations, but we also praise things ike Infinity Gauntlet and Spider-Man 2099 (I can't speak for DC readers what their favorite stuff is). I really want this "90s comics bad" mindset to be abolished.

I also like how he tries to say that Alan Moore is the one who should take the L and not the stupid fans who think Rorschach is cool despite the fact he is a racist and extremist piece of shit who shows admiration for a violent and perverted superhero and is willing to risk the humans race over his black and white morality. He also claims Alan Moore never leaves anything for the audience to decide just because some of his stories tell you who the bad guys are, you know fascists like in V for Vendetta where they kill Jewish people and other minorities. But I’ve read both V and Watchmen and there are a lot of moments where Alan Moore presents a tricky situation for the audience to think about. In Watchmen we end with a bunch of Superheroes letting the bad guy get away with killing a bunch of people due to the fact it helped prevent a devastating war. In V for Vendetta we end with V taking down the evil government but what replaces it is a chaotic society with no one to lead them. In both cases we are left with a lot of uncertainty. Watchmen hints at the possibility of Adrian’s plan going wrong with Dr Manhattan not answering if he did the right thing and a right wing newspaper finding Rorschach’s journal which may lead to people connecting the dots. Gee that sure is a lot to think about for a story that apparently doesn’t leave any room for interpretation. He also says it’s okay when They Live makes fun of Reagan cause it doesn’t say FU Reagan put loud. But for some reason Alan Moore doing the Same in V for Vendetta but with British politics is bad. Is it because he feels uncomfortable with a story about hateful people like him doing horrible stuff to the people he hates and the story calls him out on how dangerous his beloved are? He also does that thing where he calls anyone he doesn’t like or disagrees with a communist. Well Alan Moore has done way Moore than you ever will. You can call him a loser all you like but he still wrote one of the most influential and best selling comics ever and all you do is sit around wishing you could make dress some girl who isn’t into you in a metal Bikini.

That all star comic came after the 90s, a big shift in caracters and how they where portrayed, frank came at that time after sim city and that was edgy a.f.
