Yup!.. even white people I bet people wouldn't expect that🤣.. comedy is subjective, we should learn to laugh at ourselves before we laugh at anyone else... I think comedy is the best place to bring about all the fucked up shit in the world!!! Getting offended at comedy is pathetic in my opinion because it's meant to show us how stupid all of this is and lets us laugh about it.. only if someone is seriously tryna get under your skin and genuinely has that hatred only then should people be offended.. for example since we're on the topic of race I believe that racism is fucking disgusting and shouldn't exist whereas race comedy/jokes I believe should be more than okay for the reasons I've already explained... "There is no such thing as an appropriate joke. That's why it's a joke" -Michael Gary Scott Borat makes a ton of people uncomfortable. But hearing Cohen describe how he extracts hypocrisy and bigotry from those who become exposed by hitting on their triggers, it made me appreciate the approach a lot more. As an avid Family Guy watcher, most of these jokes in this clip make a little more sense when you get the set up. All this is is the punchlines of the jokes. I actually thought this video clip was poorly compiled and edited.

Borat is essentially blackface and inappropriate editing. He is a Jewish person pretending to be a white person who is essentially trying to ridicule whites because they are white. Can he make a joke sure but calling out what he is doing is also appropriate.
@jondiaz33293 жыл бұрын
Don't have a problem w/ what Cohen does to make a living and everyone has a right to their opinion, but what he does is disingenuous. He'll go out and act a fool and approach people who don't know wtf is going on, then when they don't catch on or understand what's happening and they just try to politely stumble through interacting with him he'll say that's proof of their bigotry and racism because they didn't strongly disagree with him or his portrayal of those people. It's a dirty tactic to try to make people look worse than they are. I don't have a problem w/ him behaving in a stereo typical way to get a reaction out of people though. Society needs to stop being so sensitive when it comes to that. However, I don't agree that any of his conclusions about white American people are genuine though because he approaches every single one under false pretenses and it's always a set up. Even in this vid, Knight brought up his experience in Sweden. Their reaction wasn't racist, most of them had never met a black person before. It was inexperience, by the time he left they loved him but there was that initial awkwardness because those people never were around that in their entire lives before. You can't label every reaction racist when inexperience and unknown can also be factors. And w/ the Borat character the people being approached may have never in their entire lives met someone or talked to someone from the Middle East and then their interaction with his stereo typical portrayal is their first experience. That's not genuine at all and it's not a fair way to judge people.

5:47 It actually does the opposite my friend. Being able to relate to a certain topic, and then being shown how silly some of the ideas behind that topic are, can show you how absurd they really were to begin with. I believe that's why this generation is so open to free conversation and having differences. We're working on it, I know, but we are miles ahead of our Ancestors when it comes to getting over our differences. These kind of television shows seems offensive but they actually help us *grow* by forcing us to look onto the worst parts of ourselves. I'm a christian, and the christian jokes in this show are actually on point a lot of the time! Sometimes they truly offend me and I will turn the T.V off.. sometimes I can't stop laughing at how true the joke is! Either way, it triggered a response within me, and the show did its job.

You all tripping, Stevie didn't seem annoyed or upset by the jokes or the serial itself; The truth behind those jokes was what triggered him. The jokes are only there to emphasize the stupidity of these beliefs that are really laughable while also reminding the viewers that these problems, as stupid, absurd or idiotic they might seem, they still exist. I also agree with Stevie about the impact of these kind of shows. There are two kinds of people, those who are able to figure out the intent, raising their awareness and those stupid enough to think that it is socially permitted to be openly racist. I recommend the entire South Park series.
@eliunderwood22463 жыл бұрын
Get what you’re saying but as he also pointed out this is just a compilation so it’s not like they are featuring an entire episode on TV that does nothing but make black jokes for 30 minutes straight. If that was the case then I would understand why it would be an issue. However, considering that the show makes fun of whites, Mexicans, Asians, Arabs, Jews, Muslims, Catholics, and the list goes on.. it shouldn’t be taken seriously. Also, one last note, if a show is so offensive to someone then they can refrain from watching and parents have control over what their children can or can’t watch and they have the ability to raise them in their own ways. We as a society need to just be better role models in general

@@Woody-xz6no no shit kid. Because white white people haven't faced generations of slavery, black codes, Jim Crow, redlining, military and prison industrial complex, mass incarceration etc. Obviously a racist joke about white people isn't going to be as harmful in terms of desensitizing people to actual issues.
@Awakened20013 жыл бұрын
In one way humor can be a good medium to relieve some tension enough for people to feel comfortable discussing issues, but at the same time that it exposes racism it also reinforces it with people who are actually racist. Then they feel justified like its okay or people agree with them.

Hey, just quickly about us swedes in general... We are usually not ones for small talk, especially with strangers unless someone initiates the conversation first. A lot of people that aren't from Sweden might interpret that as rude or we're judging them, but that's not the case, we just don't want to bother someone we don't know. That's how I am anyways and most of the people I know. That said we are very friendly and helpful etc if someone asks for help or wants to talk. Most people are like this here. In the US I understand it's completely different, correct me if I'm wrong

Nah we just straight awkward as a people and don't wanna talk to people we don't know hell we can't even sit next to strangers in busses or trains because we just straight awkward. Swedish person: don't know you = socially awkward, Know you = hella charismatic.
@Galidorquest3 жыл бұрын
People in general are like that everywhere, not just in Sweden. Each generation is more introverted, socially awkward and untrusting than the last mainly because of the advancement of technology... People in an advanced world usually have no reason to make friends with complete strangers in public outside of school & work unless there's common ground or if it's beneficial in some way.

@@Galidorquest true i guess that i Only seen it from Swedish perspective, but i also have a polish girlfriend and she and her brother have Said that swedish People are more introverted or socially awkward then polish and i have also seen it when i was in Poland with them but i must agree that what you say have a point and honestly i Think i am to biased since i am born and raised in Sweden

People that are getting upset need to realize that even as far back as a few thousand years ago emperors would use Jesters/Court clowns to make jokes at the expense of issues that are seen as "taboo" to get the issue some limelight so it cant just be ignored all the time. infact Jesters and such were the only people allowed to talk about things like that to the King/Emps.

Comedy is a way to root out the racists. Someone who is racist is gonna see or hear a joke and say "hahahahaha that's true" While everyone else is laughing at how outlandish the joke is.

Racism was lightweight passed down through my family 🤷 I never had that in me tho! I've had so many great black friends throughout the years & I never seen them any different! I love my grandpa & dad, but they were raised in a different time! I just never understood disliking someone because they were a different color or gender 🤷 that's just me tho! I do love family guy! Watch it every night 😁 I just like goofy shit & I like laughing & enjoying life! It sucks all the division going on right now 🤦 we are all Americans!!! We should be uniting, not dividing!!!

Honestly man, this video is refreshing in the weirdest of ways, I came from a white family in western PA that for lack of better words all think the world is paused in 1960's America. Took me till my early teens to realize I was missing out on some of the best human beings alive and the only thing I needed to do was see that. Now I'm a black sheep that trys to produce hip hop (No links this aint about that) Your attitude is inspiring man, please don't stop making videos. Sorry for the long winded comment.
