Has this ever happened to you? What has your experience been finding a job in Japan? Have you been able to secure work in Japan? Did you have work lined up before you arrived? Did you apply for jobs and something came up, or did you have a solid plan and goal or a company you wanted to work with? Let us know!

Well done on securing the interview and potential role. My only concern would be stability. With JLS you have certainty of visa end date and you can solely focus on building Japanese language skills. If you go on work visa, and the job goes south for whatever reason after a month or so, what do you do then? Anyway, good to have options. Good luck.

In Japan, a work visa, thankfully, is not tied to the company, position, or job. It lasts outside of not staying and allows one to search for new work if anything "goes south".

I do apologize for the nonsensical timeline. I have vlogs recorded in the past and ones the jump ahead, and I understand it may be confusing for a cohesive storyline... More updates coming.

That sounds like a dream come true! Can I ask if the interview was in english or it was in japanese? My plan is exactly the same but I'm a bit scared (and probably too optimistic) about landing an interview after a 4-5 months knowing that I'll about N4 level. Tech is english friendly but even that I cannot imagine myself doing that process in japanese at the moment. Cool content btw!
@makaizaku

@@elburdeldelospandas My interview(s) were in English. Tech is certainly big here, and depending on your skills and position of preference (and company) you may be given a pass, so long as you are actively improving your Japanese. 頑張って!

Just saw your video. My advise to you is that I wouldn't say anything to your school until you have keys to the hotel in hand. Once you notify your school, they will view it as if you aren't serious about continuing and could impact your relations with your school.
@makaizaku
@makaizaku 20 күн бұрын
@@retiredguyseattle2phoenix534 That can be somewhat true. However, if you are working, you must report it to the school. While they cannot prevent you from working, and under a student visa school is the priorty, it is one's right to work. Thankfully for me, school is over, I worked all the while, received my certificate, and my work permit is issued. Still, others should be careful and make sure all bases are covered and played ethically and by the rules. Else, your visa and status is at risk.

That's great! I'm extremely happy for you and i hope you got the job. hopefully you can still keep up with learning Japanese in your spear time. For me, that would have been a difficult question, but just like you said its about getting a work visa to stay much longer.

What a nice opportunity I must say. I'm wondering what I wouldve done tbh. A solid foundation of the language is quite important for me sooo splitting my time 50:50 vs 2/3 work and 1/3 language learning is a hard decision :/

Very tough. Let alone investment of money, time, energy, and all else. Still, part-time opportunities exist, and working while attending school/studying is possible.

Hi Dan, could you tell me from where did you find the job? Is it from a website? If so, can you please tell me the website because right now I'm also in Japan studying in Japanese language school. This is my 6 months in Japan and I have a bachelor degree.

I find most of my work opportunities two ways: 1. LinkedIn 2. Networking (events, friends, contacts, acquaintances, etc.) Rarely do I find opportunities via company websites. You may also look at career sites like Indeed.

I was planning to make a video specifically about what's going well and what isn't, and what so-so. I don't think I'm at N3 yet. We'll see when December JLPT comes around. Will you be taking it?
@pendatangbaru1167
@pendatangbaru1167 Ай бұрын
No, Sir. I will not take the exam this December. I am a novice, still in an online course (N5) from August till this October. In my country, registration for the December JLPT closed in early September. I didn't have the courage before, even though the community gave me all their support for applying December jlpt N5 (and many of them will take it). My current plan is to take the N4 jlpt in mid 2025.
