I know I’m weeks late but...Colleen has mentioned in the past how she doesn’t like to take breaks from youtube because it just makes her more stressed and anxious. I completely agree though. I wish I could give her the confidence to say how she feels without being concerned with others opinions of her. Okay I have to say it! She looked gorgeous with her side part, she looked gorgeous with the middle part, she looked gorgeous with curtain bangs, and she looked gorgeous with normal bangs. I think this has nothing to do with hair and everything to do with self esteem issues. I think Colleen is failing to realize how gorgeous she looks in all these hairstyles. She doesn't see herself the way we see her. Everytime she changes her hairstyle I loved it and I think a lot of other people liked it too. She just doesn't realize how beautiful she looks. colleen, i'm saying this out of genuine love, you have got to speak kinder to yourself. you bullying yourself is hard to watch. imagine if you heard flynn speaking about himself that way, it'd break your heart. be mindful of setting that example, especially for young girls. i understand what it's like to have an inner bully, to struggle with self esteem, and i can only begin to imagine how that feels on top of being in the public eye and being open to criticism from others. i just really encourage you to talk about this kind of thing in therapy or with a trusted friend or even in a journal, to begin to understand where these beliefs come from, and heal, because they are not the truth. you look beautiful! i love the bangs. but really, it only matters what you think. ❤️

As someone who struggles with self confidence, the way she speaks of herself is too familiar. But Colleen! Imagine how Flynn would feel when watching your videos as he grows up and he notices just how much you talk so negatively about yourself in them, especially in the vlogs. That one part in this video when you talked about seeing yourself in the mirror and thinking the reflection was hideous/horrifying was heartbreaking! (I know you said it in a joking tone, but still.) You tell us to be kind to each other, but I really think that applies to ourselves as well. You look great, and I think most of your viewers think so as well. I think it's a need to try to stay young and feel trendy. It seems to be a constant for 30 year olds or so. I say be urself and do whatever makes u happy when u look in the mirror 🤷‍♂️ stop caring so much about the opinions of kids

This comment feels mean spirited to me..seriously..there is nothing wrong with her wanting to try trends that teenagers think are cool. Her experimenting and doing something new then hating it is totally separate from the age appropriateness of trends. Not sure why you felt the need to point that out. There’s nothing wrong with you noting that the negativity she projects is getting to you, but the way you worded it just makes you sound like a bully which is interesting because you’re pointing out that her bullying herself is getting to you.

I just hope people realize that saying “omg Colleen we love your bangs, you’re so beautiful!” doesn’t necessarily solve the problem because the problem isn’t that she’s not getting enough compliments, it’s just that she fixates on the few negative comments and doesn’t stop thinking about them. It’s common with OCD to hyper fixate on bad things and obsess over them, so it’s totally understandable that she is obsessed with her bangs and what Gen Z and people in general think about her. Instead of telling her that she’s a bad influence or leaving a compliment thinking it’s going to make her feel better, try to empathize with her and at least educate yourself on the matter instead of being so quick to judge. Colleen, I know you have talked openly about your mental health, and I just wanna say your feelings are valid! I just hope you are able to talk to someone like a therapist about these feelings, because I think they will be more helpful than any KZbin or TikTok comment.

It's frustrating hearing her talk so badly about herself when they look so good, but your comment made me see it in a different perspective. You're completely right. I have OCD and don't hyperfixate on my appearance like I used to, but I'm sure it would be a different story if I put myself online. She's admirable for being able to do that, but it's probably also self destructive. :(

But the problem is there really aren't any negative comments. She must be searching far and wide for them. Just like when she was pregnant and she was deep diving into her comment section to find the FEW amongst thousands of comments telling her to "shut up" about being pregnant, just so she could make a million IG stories about it. It's not about OCD, its about her constant need for attention and validation. That's an issue within itself that she needs to get help with. Being in her 30s and having an audience of preteens probably feels like she's back in high school constantly being judged by mean teenage girls.

@@maddymp4 With OCD, it doesn't matter. And OCD alone can cause low self-esteem. At my worst with obsessing over appearance, it took me an hour or 2 to do my makeup every day and not because I enjoyed it. It was the fear of someone saying my eyeliner isn't even and making fun of me for it. My eyes were always sore from redoing my makeup so many times. Realistically, no one has ever commented badly about my makeup to this day. It took effort to be able to do it and not obsess over it, and eventually did, but I also don't show myself online and that makes a wooorld of a difference. I think her online presence adds fuel to the fire.

I wasn't dismissing her mental health, I was dismissing the fact that she's constantly talking trash about herself and worrying what others think, and has been doing it for over a year... literally over BANGS.
