I had a TIA 7 yrs ago symptoms lasted for 15 min then cleared. Went yo A&E had xrays cat scan , mri , they found a vlot in my right carotid artery where plaque had broken off causing TIA. 4 days after my TIA i had an emergency carotid endarterectomy to clean out right carotid and remove the clot . Suffered from anxiety for 3 yrs after that . I am all good now .

my mom had a carotid endarterectomy over 20 years ago (she was a smoker), she eventually did quit smoking and is still alive at age 87. If you do smoke pls stop immediately.

TIA May 2015, painting then just collapsed, rapid horizontal nystagmus, feeling sick, couldn’t remember my date of birth or name or who my wife was! 2nd TIA Dec 2015, sitting in bed talking to my wife then right vision just went, like a theatre curtain coming down, blind in that eye for 6 hours, luckily resolved in hospital.

My mother had one in February and then another one in May, then another one yesterday morning...she spent a week in the hospital in May and I told them what had happened. They did every test imaginable, but was diagnosed with nothing but a UTI!!!! I don't know what to do, it's like they don't believe me. The only reason I am positive this is what she has been having is because the first time I witnessed it was at her oncologist office and I thought she was having a stroke, I screamed for the Doctor and nurses and they witnessed it, five minutes later the nurse told me what it was. I believe she had them before now that I know what it is because she has collapsed when she lived at her home with my dad, but he just thought she lost her balance.

I began having TIA in the 7th grade of school. It was 1973. Reduced vision in the left eye. Then left arm went numb. Comprehension started going. Then chills and nausia. I went to the school nurses office. Then vomiting. They called my father to get me. Dad took me home and left me there and he returned to work. I was at home alone for the day. Parents just thought I was sick. I had four or five more TIAs over the next few years. After finishing school I have only had a few more, the last serious one at age 25. Even after telling my doctors the symptoms, they made no other diagnosis other than headaches. Now I know what they were. I am in my late 50s now.

You can be in exellent health and very young and still have a TIA. Actor Frankie Muniz gotten his first TIA at the age of 26 as he never smoked drink. He stayed healthly until one day he was riding his motor cycle and noticed blurred vison. He head several TIAs after that, that it effected his memory that he doesn't remeber being cast in Malcom in the Middle. There more and more people now these days getting TIAs at a young age. I've also believed i had one in 2012 at the age of 25 as i was just talking to a friend just having a normal conversation and also of sudden i started feeling light headed pins and needles in my arms and hands and my jaw locked up for maybe 10 secs with slurred speech. I did the samething as you, never went to the doctor or anything as i didn't think anything else about it until today. Now i know i need to dial 911 if it happens again. TIAs can lead to an acutal stroke once you have your first TIA.

Hope your feeling better John. I actually got interested in kayaking for the fishing enjoyment and I figured it would give me some exercise instead of just sitting in my jon boat fishing. I have started to alternate between kayak fishing and kayaking for exercise. I will go out and fish one trip and the next trip maybe do a little fishing, but spend most of the trip paddling in a river with current. I realized paddling around fishing in still water isn't a whole lot of exercise. Diet is very important also. Thanks for sharing!

My TIA was on my left arm and hand. I could not grab items with my left hand and was constantly dropping items with that hand. It felt like my hand was not even there. Walking at work it finally just lit up like pins and needles and electricity was going through my left side. Went down to the floor and cut myself and blood all over the floor. I don’t remember going down just coming to and seeing the blood. Went to ER via ambulance they did tests and I passed them but it was a freaky experience.

Man buddy I’m sorry to hear that. I didn’t watch the other video. I’m about to turn 41 an me and the family just joined the gym. I’m realizing I have to back in shape too. Life gets busy and it’s hard to prioritize the time. Some things that have worked great for me in the past. Low carb and eating only real food. Life has a way of getting in the way of that too. Unfortunately. So does getting old. 🤕. I don’t know much about strokes, is that a blood pressure problem? Try and relax.

earlier this year I had an incident where I couldn't talk. I knew what I wanted to say but just couldn't make my mouth work..now anyone who knows me knows I can talk until the cows come home, but for 5 minutes I couldn't talk. My husband had just walked in the door after work and I was embarrassed. I turned away from him and kept cooking tea. He had no idea and just thought I was busy in the kitchen.The inability to talk of course went away. I went to the DR the next day...yes I am an idiot for waiting. It was a mini stroke. Now we thought I was going to be OK. I thought I was OK but listening to you talk about your symptoms I don't think I am OK. I think I may have had a few more since then... the reading thing..that one really hit home the confusion, I got lost coming out of a grocery store I use all of the time. I had no idea where I was. I was so embarrassed I said nothing to anyone. the numbness, I too have past injuries but combined with the other things as you said.... ... everything you have said. I thought it was just left over from the mini stroke. Thank you I will make sure I get help for this. Your video is the best one on the net explaining what happens.

@eman08286 жыл бұрын
Natra Z MRIs generally don't detect mini stokes as it would be a waste of a ton of money. Mini strokes passes through without permant damage compared to a real full stroke. Full blown Strokes causes permant damage to the brain.
