I definitely did with my two old Creepypasta ocs, which was a brother and sister duo. The sister’s name was Slender Rose (she was basically Slender-Man’s adoptive daughter) and her brother’s name was Slender Bill. I used to ship them together, they both even share feelings for each other (Yeah, I didn’t realize that was incest as a child) but when I realized it I decided to fix it where Bill has feelings for Sally instead. After a while, however, I lost interest in them, so I never used them ever again.

When I was 8 I had a pair of completely original characters who were first cousins, and also carrying out a Romeo and Juliet forbidden love. One of them was adopted so they weren't blood related, but incest is still incest. They even eloped and had two kids. Yeah. They were also royalty though, so I can't say I wasn't being historically accurate.

I would say that Melody was moreso an answer to Shadow of he ever got out of control, but was immediately buried after G.U.N. sent their task force to kill anyone in connection to the mission. Her name could serve as a way of "soothing the savage beast", being gifted with a sort of voice that can pacify naturally aggressive creatures to reduce the threat level, make someone forget what they saw, and many other things. It would add more credence to her status as a propaganda mascot and add more versatility to her talents.

Alright, I've spent the last couple minutes trying to salvage Melody's story, so here goes: What if the reason why Melody is so good at singing and why her color is black is because she was made out of chondrules from meteorites? To simplify, chondrules are basically beads of glass inside meteorites, so what I'm proposing is that Melody is entirely made of glass. This would explain why she's musically talented because traditionally, many instruments have been made out of glass and it would make more sense given the context that Gerald made Melody in space. Here's the reworked story: In-between the creation of the Biolizard and Shadow, Gerald created Melody as a proof-of-concept, and when she went ballistic, Gerald banished her inside a small capsule that was meant to orbit the Earth forever (that way, Melody cannot exit the capsule). Later on, at the end of SA2, when Shadow fell to his death, he managed to perfectly hit the capsule, causing it to crash on the blue planet. The capsule broke and Melody broke free. Yeah, definitely not a flawless story, but I tried.

It'd be kind of interesting if Sunny was Eggman's attempt at recreating SNT's ✨special✨ abilities and synthesizing her to be evil. Only for the good cells in SNT to make her turn out similarly! She doesn't get the combat skill and attraction based things because she ended up being an imperfect version - mostly as SNT's DNA going into her was diluted. It's why they look so similar but are different people! She can keep her crush on Sonic as he could find her while he was at Eggman's base, looking for something, and therefore prevented the doctor from destroying her (because she's a failure in Egghead's eyes and she doesn't need to live if she's not strong). The rest of the group take her in and being the soft, sympathetic, sweetheart she is - SNT declares Sunny as her twin sister... And if we wanna do a full tie in, Sunny can have SNT's changed personality of being a shy and self-conscious person. Maybe brought on by the fact that Eggman told her she was a failed version of SNT; who she could grow to look up to.

I think a good backstory rework is similar to along the lines of the one Matthew Prower recommended but here's my change: After the absolutely embarrassing disasters that were the Perfect Chaos Incident, The ARK Reactivation Crisis, The Black Arms Attack, and the Eggman War it was safe to say moral and overall recruitment for G.U.N was at its lowest in the organization's history. They needed to find something, anything to not just boost morale but also to increase recruitment. Luckily, they manage to find a solution, through the power of music like old-timey war propaganda songs like Over There, but with a more modern flavor so to speak. But they can't just HIRE someone to do it. They are not going through the hassels of "Legal Ownership" or risk being "Sued of Everything" because the person they hired got a big ego and wanted more than their share. No. They would have to make one. But who could they use as a base for the idol? Rouge is... well... Rouge. Sonic would never be found in time. Amy... Well she COULD work but that runs the gambit of the idol being attached to Sonic too and... No. Not worth the hassel. But who else is there? There's no one el-... Wait. No. There is another. Him. It was a gamble. A HUGE gamble at that. One that, if it didn't work, would ruin G.U.N forever. But as the old saying goes, "Sometimes you have to role a Hard Six." And so, after many months of secrecy from Project Melody came the girl herself. And to the joy of G.U.N everything, was going, perfectly. It seemed they would finally escape that pit they landed in after those strings of failures. But then, it would all come crashing down one fateful day when Shadow showed up with Rouge to one of her concerts, invited by Amy, Tails, Cream, Vanilla, and Sonic, causing a butterfly effect that would not only cause the single most important moment in Shadow's life(/character) but bring G.U.N, an organization that finally recovered after years of humiliation, into absolute ruin...

I'll be honest, I have my own idea for a roster of experiments. I basically thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be interesting if Project Shadow never really had that name and there were multiple failed experiments before Shadow?" There would be graveyard or other similar place on the Ark, paying homage to every failed experiment, maybe even some that died almost immediately after synthesis. They would all be named after dark things and all in alphabetical order, showing just how long it took to get the desired result. Ash, Blackberry, Coal, and so on, each one lasting a little longer in testing than the previous, until Shadow finally came. It could also have an effect on Maria, maybe causing her to shut out each new experiment as she knows it won't last long. Thus, her finally bonding with Shadow would be even more meaningful. I'm imagining the characters exploring the Ark and finding out this dark secret, making the organization behind them all even more heartless, causing moral questions like, was one ultimate lifeform worth the lives of at least 18 other experiments? How can Shadow make up for that, if that is even possible, and is it his job to do so? Things like that.

Hey Courtney! I got an idea for the redesign of melody and make it look so not cringy and made alot more scene! I also know how to make her origin sound better! Like:"Melody was born from her vocal cords where dr gerald has an idea of music like he accidently trip over some speakers and interments witch gives the perfect melody! When melody woke up, she starts to panic (like you mentioned) and started to wreck the stuff! Dr. Gerald tries to find a way to kill her but realized by shooting will cost animal cruelty but he decided to put her on the machine to burn her! But melody escapes by jumping onto the escape pod! But the escape pod has something unlikely that dr gerald forgot to fix and get rid of, but it was "₮ØØ Ⱡ₳₮Ɇ", the escape pod has launch it out to space toward mobius/earth, melody feel slightly werid and then suddenly passed out and begin to deformed into the mobian half human half symbiote! 40 years later, she was found by the group of badniks and carried the ruin and rusty escape pod to eggman. Eggman decided to make this pod something more better out of it, that's is until he accidently opens it, the escape pod door opens to reavel the deformed mutated mobian half human.................THING, then eggman screamed after witnessing it! Eggman hide behind the desk with sage, cubebot and orbbot before realizing that it won't hurt him, eggman decided to take a closer look at the deformed monsterousity, then has an idea. Eggman calls out some of the badniks and take the deformed monsterousity melody to the lab and put her in the where snt was made! Eggman was going to rebuild melody with a twist, but it didn't go as planned because something went wrong with the machine causing it to glitch alot and making the tv staticing to create the worst nightmare that eggman has created! Even worst..............melody remembers..............EVERYTHING! and decided to take revenge, starting with eggman, but orbbot stopped her and decided to take her to the pod that will launch her to space, but fails and Inmunitly got destroyed, and then she escapes, plan her revenge as a symbiote before find the "perfect" body!"

Idea for some more melody lore: as she grew up with cream they bonded very good and for a while they where singers together but melody got more famous and got power hungry ditching cream and becoming an idol leaving cream by herself. When cream joined the sonic crew she gained a close bond with everyone and almost forgot about melody, eventually the gang went to a melody concert with snt when cream saw her she remembered everything after the concert she went to confront her about ditching her but melody got the security to knock her out and she fainted. When she woke up she was kidnapped in melody's dressing room where she had snt kidnapped as well and she explained "you know fame is hard but you go big or go home, you have to break some friendships for fame. Her backstory is like what Shadow’s backstory would be if he was in sonic underground, so screwed, let’s run with that! Since Dr. Gerald seems to have a pension for taking random ancient artifacts and using them for experiments, you can say he found a retooled version of the underground medallions and used one of them as the basis for Melody. Then a more sensible version of the rest of the backstory happens. Also, since SNT is now officially shipped with Amy, and since she was originally adopted into creams family, why not ship her with Vanilla (as Melody would be around the same age or slightly older than her)? I’ll admit as a straight male I am biased, but felt like mention it anyway.

I had (and still do, she’s my main Sonic oc) an oc for STH that is also Shadow’s sister, except I actually knew that she’d be Shadow’s sister if she’s from the ARK (she’s Shadows younger sister by less than two months.) I also went with “I want her to look like Shadow, but to be separate in design from Shadow.” So, I made her purple instead of red. At first, I kept her quills, but now I think I’ll redesign her quills to look more like hair, kinda like Amy’s hair or something like that.
