It literally took Aizen, one of the most broken characters in all of anime (and another character Death Battle SERIOUSLY fucked up calculations on), to be a DISTRACTION long enough for two other characters to create a literal split-second window where Yhwach was even ABLE to be killed. And even then, he almost managed to reincarnate several years later, but Ichigo's kid is already so OP he ACCIDENTALLY stopped it. So it effectively took THREE Deus Ex Machinas to bring him down for good.

They never calculated Naruto's power in his modes only his base mode chakra. Let alone his moded chakra stacked with other modes. He can also absorb all the nature energy in the area. They made stuff up for both sides but you can't ignore the feats. A lot of stuff in bleach (which I do really like I am not just fanboying Naruto) is not realistic. Ofcourse since it's a fiction show and all but what I mean is in Naruto powers usually have a basis that is easy to understand. Kurohitsugi if it really was a black hole would have the power to easily destroy the planet which Aizen does not have. Lots of things in bleach make no sense and you can not give them a basis in real world science. Naruto is simply more powerful and more durable than Ichigo and this wasn't even Baryon mode Naruto which absolutely violated an enemy that destroyed Naruto and Sasuke who is relative to Naruto in their previous most powerful forms with ease.

Because yes, Dragon Ball ended for a long time and Super only started up relatively recently, but it's presence and influence was still everywhere at the time even if the series had "stopped". Also, everyone I've talked to about "The Big Three" was referring to the biggest manga/anime franchises in both the literal size of the series as well as widespread renown and appeal. These franchises are Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto/Boruto. Bleach was a part of that back in the day because at it's peak, it was HUGE, but it steadily declined in popularity until people stopped comparing it to the rest of them and it fell by the wayside, even though it still has a lot of diehard fans.

Madara vs Aizen was probably their worst example. They lowballed Aizen so hard, it should've been one of the easiest wins ever for him if they'd gotten it correct. He was sealed away specifically because NOTHING in the Bleach universe could kill him. The series also strongly hints he was just getting MORE powerful as he was locked away, as he'd already started unsealing himself not long after his defeat. It's also hinted, though not conclusively shown that the omniscient, damn near omnipotent Yhwach couldn't do it when they met the first time.

Senna detonated a blast strong enough to push two universes back into place, and it did ZERO damage to the Garganta. My answer is that Ichigo wins without even using Bankai and Hollowfication, the calcs they used are very iffy, even though Ichigo has less AP(that's without trying to amp him with Bankai since we have no feats for his Bankai), he gradually surpasses Naruto in speed. Naruto has a good chance, since he's versatile with his abilities. I'd say it's 60/40 in Ichigo's side, that's without databooks for both.

- You'd probably like Naruto's dad Minato given your love for fast characters. Guy was nicknamed the Yellow Flash - Naruto also has a reverse version of the Sexy Jutsu. It may sound ridiculous but it manage to distract one of the strongest characters in the series for a sucker punch. The whole manga/anime protag constantly evolving trope is because since the series keeps going with the protags getting stronger, enemies need to keep being stronger to give a challenge and interesting story. Sadly, many times the manga writer has to perform ‘the ass pull’ when they’ve have written themselves into a corner. If an enemy is so overpowered to the point of even questioning if defeat is even possible then the protag gets a random, out of nowhere, power boost that has little to no explanation. This can also lead to something like Ichigo loosing his powers or a change in protagonists such as Naruto to Boruto since they pretty much peaked in their power so how can they even have a challenge with a BS enemy.

By the way, someone made an argument that Ichigo is around 5 times the speed of light (they actually say closer to 10, but they doubled it due to some false assumptions they made). So Ichigo might be 5 times the speed of light. Also, Ichigo's Vasto Lorde bezerker form causes multiple "nuclear" explosions to go off that are so powerful they affect other realities, while in another example of him flexing, literally holds and contains another "nuclear" explosion in his fist. Basically, a nuke went off in his hand, and he kept the blast from escaping by closing his fist around it (that is some grip), and it did no damage to him (in some ways, he basically crushed a nuclear explosion with his grip). By the way, they are rebooting/continuing the bleach anime where it left off, going to cover the Thousand Year Blood War Arc which is where YWBCH is from.

Neither character’s power was properly assessed. Ichigo seems to get a greater nerf in my opinion. Ex. When they say that ulquiorra could destroy hueco mundo. This was a great downplay. Releasing his first, of two, resurrection (form) would destroy hueco mundo. Through the arrancar arc, resurrections are often implied to be a similar power increase to bankai releases. Ichigo with his hollow mask fought against the first resurrection on the defensive. I think ichigo would win, until they include boryon mode for naruto which has recently come to existence.

I dunno about the result. What I do know is that they used very suspect feats for the characters. Like for one they never mentioned that the moon that was cut in Naruto was almost completely hollow which bumps that feat down quite a bit, or how the lightspeed beam was dodged because Madara spit it to a side and then made a swing with his neck that Naruto dodged (plus he has danger sense, he can pre dodge) making that speed feat not really eligible. Bleach in general is hard to gauge the exact levels of power of the people involved so I don't quite blame them.

The inspiration for the lost of power most likely comes from that (the Letzt still) but is not the canon reason, at least with the info we know... because Isshin (Ichigo's father) new and tried this technique that comes from their Zanpakutō lineage Engetsu ---> Zangetsu... and Isshin isn't a Quincy, nor does he have Quincy powers. But the inspiration, yea that's defo because of Letzt Still, no doubt. Even the having a gauntlet that disappears, it fits perfectly.

All long-running Shounen anime eventually suffer from "power" creep. For example, let's say a shounen manga series starts with a random mailman as the protagonist and the story is about his everyday life. By the 25th chapter, the genre inexplicably changes to hard action for no reason. By the 50th Chapter, the first major arc finished a new set of dangerous foes. By the 75th chapter, the hero (who is no longer a mailman because he's too busy fighting) gets a power-up. This means even bigger threats, resulting in even more massive powers. By the 150th chapter, the protag can fly and defy the physics of the story's setting. This results in huge stakes, so by the 200th chapter, the protag reaches demigod status. By the end of the series, he becomes God but will likely give it up to be a regular human or just hand around regular humans🤷🏾‍♂️... ^That's basically the absurd power progression, aka power "creep", that plagues the Shounen manga/anime. You just leant to not question it after a while.

As a fan of both series I can say that this is probably the outcome that should have happened. Naruto has so many more offensive options than Ichigo does - like, back in 2004 or whatever, Ichigo definitely would have won, all Naruto had were shadow clones and the base rasengan, and Kurama making him go berserk. But Naruto's upward trajectory got absolutely _nuts_ in the second half of shippuden - and if they're including his stuff from Boruto? No contest, sad as I am that my boy Ichigo lost.

I remember when this episode came out. There were SO MANY Bleach fans butthurt over their boy not winning. You could barely go anywhere in anime circles without someone trying to justify why they were right and Death Battle was wrong. People don’t really like this episode because they might actually be drastically underestimating ichigos power and we never got to see what his end forms power was on account of it being thanos snapped out of existence. But just as a quick example ignoring ichigos fullbring powers cause no one knows how that works... the ulquiorra fight they use as the base for ichigos power could be as low as just 1/4 of his true strength. Because he has hollow, Quincy and soul reaper powers clashing inside him all the time he’s never able to truly use his full power until the final arc came around. His vasto lorde or mugetsu forms are more what about 1/3 of his true power should be before applying multipliers from merging forms. Mugetsu being his quicy powers sacrificing itself to seal away his hollow side so he can use 100% soul reaper power without interference and vasto lorde being 100% hollow because he was well dead at the time
