Sending prayers for Smokey. One of my past female dogs had severe UTI's. She would have a couple of good weeks between each one. I did a lot of research and found that Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother helps dogs with UTI issues. After going through medications for almost 2 years I started once daily ACV. From that time on she never had another UTI for the rest of her 8 years of life. She was a 45 pound dog and I gave her a capful of ACV on her dog food every morning. I know Smokey is a picky eater but I had to tell you what has worked for us and many of my friends. There are many benefits that come with daily ACV for dogs. I have given ACV to all my dogs since that day and we have not had another UTI. I hope Smokey can get past all of this and live a long healthy life. God Bless.

Yes I would add it to their water and it helped with flea control also. I never used anything for fleas or ticks and my dog's never had any... But I'm sure the apartment grounds were treated but you never know...

Dogs are amazingly resilient. They don't always show it when they are in pain. Don't feel badly for not recognizing her symptoms. Hopefully the meds will bring her relief so she can start to heal. Best wishes from northern Illinois.

Ralph, I feel your thoughts about Smokey having her UTI because I just spent several days in the hospital with one. They pumped me full of antibiotics until my infection was gone. I could then go home but needed help from guys in the ER to get into our car because I can’t walk, and then when we got home my husband tried getting me out by himself and I slid out of the car and hit the garage floor on my back and chest. I bruised some of my ribs but am slowly getting better. The worst part of my ordeal was having to be Catherized and days later it was removed. My heart goes out to Smokey because we are both dealing with similar circumstances and it isn’t fun. Smokey please hurry and get well so the Adlers can all know you are back to being your beautiful self again!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰…so many dogs look like Smokey my vote gets her the most beautifull award! I just went through the same thing with my female bullmastiff. I never noticed a problem at first. Whiskey will not get in the car so I have a mobile vet. They put her on 2 weeks of Amoxicylin and she just finished it and she seems really good. They will be here next week to check for sure. She does take prebiotic every day and is taking a pill to help keep her clear. I did notice she had a bad odor but I thought she was rolling in dirt in the yard. She also had ear infection at the same time.

It brought a smile to my face when you spoke of your Mom praying and then worrying about something. My Mom was the same! One minute she'd be praying over my diabetic Father and the next minute she'd be wondering where he was. I had a terrible upbringing because of home life. However, I am so thankful for the heritage they left us. Great godly people with huge hearts. I pray I have half the impact on people as they did. They opened our home to strangers, pastors, and even drunkards. At one point, my Mom looked after Dad, 6 kids and 7 boarders. Hello Grandpa.. Have her sugar levels checked. I had an American bulldog & she started with loss of vision & when they tested her blood sugar count was almost 500 very high they say 140-160 is good but will be happy under 200. Just a thought.. We had to give our dog insulin shots 2x a day..

Crossed my mind, too... diabetes is a nasty disease and constricts blood vessels leading to retinopathy, poor circulation in extremities, mental confusion, etc. including UTIs. With bigger dogs they can implant devices to monitor blood sugar levels and send info to your cell phone, and automatically dose the insulin. (I had a cat with diabetes.) I would assume the vet already did a blood panel that would have checked, but it would be good to ask. 🙏🙏🙏

We had a dog that had a UTI + a kidney stone the size of an egg. The vet did surgery & took it out. They probably need to do an x-ray to make sure that isn’t causing the UTI. I had a dog when I was a teenager who had a kidney stone. We noticed something was wrong when I saw her peeing and it was bright red. She had to have surgery to remove the kidney stone. She was fine afterwards and never had another problem. Sending prayers for Smokey.

Makes sense now why shes behaving like she is ,my girl had a UTI and my vet told me to take her off dry dog food ,i put her on a raw diet and she recovered well she had an inner ear infection that caused her to have problems with her eyes thats all connected, soon as that cleared up she was absolutely fine ,she lived to age 14 with only age related problems arthritis ,really breaks my heart seeing her feeling unwell, sending love and prayers for a quick and full recovery ,appreciate all of my Adler farm family members God bless 🙏🏻🙏🏻💖🐺

When you’re fur baby begins losing their vision it really hurts. Our fur baby lost her vision three year ago. She gets around very well. The vet told us that she maps out the area she walks around in. I pray for Smoky and that her health issues will go away! Blessings always. ❤️🙏🏻

My Koa dog (German Shorthair Pointer) got two severe UTIs Vet gave her Prednisone, Painkillers and Antibiotics. Towards the end of the treatments (approximately 3 weeks) Koa dog was walking into the couch, the walls, and fell down stairs (3 steps)….😢 I thought it was seizure? I cried my eyes out. (Both times it was a Sunday, vet off) Koa recovered, but I am constantly worried about her. Blood is great. I bring urine samples once a month. She is “thick” fat. She is treated like a Princess 👑 Poor Smokey 😢 We all love & pray for her.

I know a ear infection will cause their balance to be wobbly when walking . I've never heard of a UTI affecting the vision tho. I had a dog that had kidney problems it was a inherited trait and she got UTI's often . No way would I go for you shipping Batman off somewhere (I know the suggestions was all in jest). But for the record Grampa Adler Farms would not be the same without that big clown. I know how it is to give up an animal for their best interests even though your heart is breaking at the loss of them in your life. I had to find s good home for the last horse I owned-a sweet beautiful palomino mare named Charm. I won't be tedious by sharing the circumstance. The important thing is I could no longer give her her best life. That was exactly the case with Tessie. I know Chad and Rae made the decision for the good of all. I also am touched by what a great steward you are, Ralph of your precious animals. ❤ I love you-you're videos are always a bright spot in my day.

As always, it's been a pleasure seeing you, Grandma and Adler today. I'm so sorry that Smokey is having to deal with this condition with her UTI and loss of sight. My heart breaks for her and also for all of you. It's so hard to see our fur babies suffer like this. Even though the medicine takes about two weeks to fight the infection, it may take a while for her to get her pep back. She does seem to be walking much more today though. Until next time....much love to all of you. 😊🥰😘🤗 I had to give Smokey a kiss so she'll feel better. ❤
