I have terminal heart issues. I have had open heart surgery twice, and cannot have more. I have two pig valves that were installed in 2020; they have a max 10 year life span. When they run out, I run out. But because my condition doesn’t have the name ‘cancer’, I don’t get the kind of attention and love you describe. I never hear from anyone, including my family who knows all about my condition. I’m not sure how we bring attention to heart disease like cancer has. But cancer is not the only disease that gives you a new view of life; I am grateful for every day. I wish you all the best and a long life.

I am also a Stage IV NSCLC warrior, non smoker. I had zero symptoms, that I knew of anyway as I have had lupus for many years so I am very use to not feeling 100%. I had no cough or shortness of breath, I work full time, hike pretty much every weekend and surf. One year ago, pretty much to this week, I developed a bad cough and sore back but I was just getting over Covid. Within one week, I was having a hard time walking from my bedroom to my couch. My husband was away on business and I just kept saying, “I’ll be fine, it’s just another lupus flare”. He got home and I was literally green laying on my couch and off to the ER we went. My hemoglobin was down to 3.5 and I needed 3 blood transfusions. After CT scans I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I am doing 2 IV chemotherapy drugs along with immunotherapy every 3 weeks. I am going in for my 11th treatment on Friday. After my 6th treatment my scans showed the tumor is down by 30%. Other than fatigue I have very few symptoms, the worse thing for me is the hair loss. Im continuing to work, although I’ve needed to take days off just to sleep. Hope you are doing well.

I was diagnosed with stage four Lung cancer in 2017. 2016 I had drop foot and had a low back surgery that did nothing for it. So with surgery you have to have a MRI, Cat scan and then a chest X-ray. So then I had terrible arm pain 5 months later. Another MRI and Cat scan. Doctor decided I needed a neck surgery. So another chest X-ray. This was December 2016. My pain did not go away. Steady got worse. I had high blood pressure from the pain. I couldn’t think my arm hurt so bad. So the doctor wanted another cat scan. I decided to go to a different facility for this one. That afternoon they called and said I need to go see my General Practitioner. They had sent the results to him. I never heard from the doctors office that ordered the scan and had done the neck surgery to this day. So he told me I had cancer and not to do any crazy cures he said to do what my oncologist recommends. So I found an Oncologist that is well known and liked. So I saw him in June of 2017. I asked him how long did I have Lung cancer. He said over a year. And none of the people reading my scans caught it. Really makes you wonder about our health care. Anyway I did a round of Chemo. Did nothing for me. In February 2018 I started Immunotherapy with the drug Keytruda I did almost three years of infusions every three weeks. I am currently showing no sign of disease for over two years at least. I get mixed up on times. I credit God and him giving humans the intelligence to produce the medicines that cured me. And I thank my doctor and all the nurses who have taken care of me. They have all been wonderful. I hope you have the same outcome and as I have had. Ask about immunotherapy. It is a life saver.

@@lornabarkan4194 right, that’s the stigma. If you were told you had lung cancer, the first reaction was, or used to be, automatically “oh, you’re a smoker!” It’s crazy to me how many people don’t or never smoked that have lung cancer for it still to be associated with smoking. They ask that for insurance purposes. I heard that insurance doesn’t want to cover certain treatments for smokers, it’s quite awful and discriminating since anyone can get it regardless. So the story goes that some smokers are advised to say that they never smoked. All the best to all! Everyone needs to get the best possible care and treatment.

You are exactly right! I saw somewhere lung cancer doesn't get the proper funding bc of this very stigma. Remove the stigma, find the cure. My case is a lot different as I am a 73 year old woman with other health issues. I had a great doctor that told me the facts and didn't try to talk me into treatment. I had only 1 option for treatment and it was a clinical trial I might qualify for. The doctor told me that could possibly buy me a year to a year and a half. Since the outcome was like that I decided not to do any treatment and live out my time being with my family and living my life to the fullest extent possible. My only concern was that my son would understand why I chose not to have treatment. Thankfully he understood perfectly and is now with me every step of the way. God bless and keep you and yours in the best of spirits and keep your faith strong.

It's still chemo....and I can relate! It's tough and I always kept in mind that this to shall pass! I had breast cancer caught early and no spread but I'm triple negative so it was recommended for preventing it from recurring! I had infusion and gave my self the injection of newlasta.. I get it and your doing right by listening to your body!! ❤ Goodluck and God bless you sweetie 🎉😊❤❤

The “cinderblocks on your feet“ is something I feel every day now. For 20 years I have been going for testing and trusting Doctors to tell me the truth. Only for them to tell me time and time again and hundreds and thousands of dollars later after testing, “we don’t see anything”. I’m so tired now and I can no longer afford to do any further testing for them to just tell me the same things with no resolution. So I have given up. It has gotten progressively worse and more painful. I have accepted my fate at this point, but it is still comforting to watch these videos for some reason.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video and share your story. You are a very beautiful, and blessed person, with a wonderful sense of humor. I am sorry this happened to you, but your message to others is so profound and I personally think that you are helping so many that you have no idea about. My God's grace shine upon you and your family, and keep on keeping on. BTW, I am sure your weiner dog has done much to provide you with emotional and physical comfort during your experience......God provides all of us what he knows we can handle.

I have a fatigue illness but once I started a medication for seizures I was so sleepy it was unbelievable. I’ll have to try drinking more water. I’m too tired to drink a lot but I need to try.

I have Metastatic Melanoma at 42 and it was in my neck. Had radiation for 4 weeks and it’s gone. Now it’s in my lungs and I’m on the oral meds too. I’m on 2. But I have had 2 organ transplants so I can’t have immunotherapy. I got so sick with fevers and stomach problems they had to tone down my dosage 3 times. Now it seems to be working. I pray it lasts a very long time. I also hope I can get the cancer to not move anywhere else but that’s not up to me. Your story speaks to me because we seem very similar. I can’t work though and I’m in pain but I’m happy to be alive. Most days lol. My fatigue started after my kidney transplant when I was 26. Covid definitely has done a lot of damage. Had it twice and I was careful. It’s hard for us to know if everything we are feeling has anything to do with the Covid world. Some maybe but the rest is from the cancer and other pre-existing conditions. Hugs. Goood luck to you and thank you for sharing.

Firstly, I do hope you're doing OK. Could you tell us How they found lung cancer if you had no symptoms? Meaning, why did you go to the doctor in the first place for them to come across it? Was it just a routine health check that triggered the findings?

Immunotherapy is a godsend. My wife went through chemo and multiple rounds for stage 4 lung cancer only then discovering a treatable mutation. Still a fight

My grandmother smoked since she was 12. In her 70s, 1 lung collapsed. Dont know what else was found in that lung. But she was living on the other lung until 88 (she was still smoking) when she passed from something else and it wasn't even anything wrong with the other lung.

Everyone seemed to have smoked from 12 yrs on at that time, it seems - most of my family. People smoke in hospital waiting rooms, doctors had ashtrays on their tables 😂

My friend said doctors actually told her to start smoking in the 80’s I believe. Weird times
