Incredible how something as simple as taking off the factory roof rack turns into a major job with pulling interior pieces apart. So glad my HDJ81 doesn’t have a factory roof rack. One less headache. Great video and thanks for posting.

Torque is never overkill. Not torquing enough is not only negligent, it's dangerous in many cases. For example, I learnt the hard way to check the work of tyre shops, I needed a new tyre on an E39. They not only lost the lug nut key, they put the lug nuts on with a high torque impact. Ever since then, when I pick it up, I drive around the corner and re-torque, if only to check they returned the lug nut key.
