My drum teacher introduced to me Hadrien Feraud when I was in high school, as well. 10+ years later I still go back to this video. The album this song comes from is great, too.

Hey Josh , This is what you were listening to at seventeen ? No WONDER you're drumming is so musical and tasteful bro. All of the musicians are on point ; the chord voicings setting an atmospheric vibe , with the bass player playing the melody - which was unexpected - and fit with the music. The drummer was killing on the independence , and making his snares , toms , and cymbals individually stand out ; his chops were ridiculous - but he didn't overdo it ; knew when to rain it back in. Thank you for putting us up on to this , I'm definitely going to check out more. You have created a wonderful platform for drummers , giving up and coming and experienced drummers / musicians equal shine. I'm going to say it : People are now starting to bite off of you , and now you see " reaction videos " popping up all over the place. But , you created your own niche. You brought other aspects of drumming that was severely lacking ; it was all just about chops and drum battles. Your videos show not only chops - but how to groove and hold pocket. You also demonstrate how to groove in different time signatures - which alot of drummers overlook. It's not about just being able to play in different time signatures ; can you make them groove and does what you're playing support the music ? I remember when Dennis was asked why he gets so much work , he said : " Because I play grooves. " So many drummers don't realize that most gigs they will be called for won't involve chops - unless it's that type of gig. You also show that no matter how far out you go , you're couting , and know where you are - the drummer in this videos demonstrates that wonderfully. Your production is highly quality ; every nuance and articulation can be seen and heard. Buy most importantly J , what comes across in your videos is your positive and humble attitude , and genuine support for other musicians. You ae genuinely greatful for what you have accomplished , and we feel that. Keep up the great content. Tom , California

now idk if this the right term but i think that bass player doing that like that slap picking stuff (even tho he's not slapping) like how tosin abasi and javier reyes do in a lot of aal songs. i believe i seen in a interview tosin said he it learned from javier n javier learned from a bass player that typa of like faster multiple finger picking.
