The storyline is metaphorical. It’s a reference to their former member Soojin. She was forced to leave the group due to unapproved allegations in 2021, before eventually making her comeback as a solo artist last year. So this is like her “revenge” to the injustice, and all the other girls are standing by her side.

there's only 5 members in the group currently, soojin left in august 2021. however, there was 6 of them in one scene (the hallway scene), because shuhua played 2 characters, one representing soojin. we know this because her birthday was listed alongside the birthdays of the other members in the music video.

It's hilarious how you managed to get all the names wrong even while looking at the pictures 😂 I'll help you out. The girl in the very beginning and in the very end, the one that gets "exploded"/the one with the bandages at the end and the one that is watching everything from the other building are the same person, that's Shuhua (she's playing two different characters and many believe the victim Shuhua plays is meant to represent Soojin, their former member/friend). The one in all black with the ponytail and red lipstick is Minnie. The one dressed like a maid is Soyeon. The blonde one with the guitar is Yuqi (pronounced Ugi/Oogie). The "detective" (she's actually a psychiatrist) with the beige coat and red hair is Miyeon. Also, as I mentioned before, Soojin is no longer part of the group but the mv and the case file video explaining the story (you should watch it) seems to heavily inspired by Soojin's story and her being forced to leave the group due to proven false accusations of bullying in middle school (they even added her birthday in one of the files along with six finger prints instead of 5).

There is no definite explanation of the story YET from the group; everyone telling you what the story is about is pure theory. But we as fans know what the references are probably alluding to. I-Dle followed up with a short video explaining the cork board Shuhua is looking at, to give people some context. It is indeed an invitation to form theories to the meaning. That being said, fans like myself have pretty much determined this is about Soojin. She was released from contract around Easter 2022 due to allegations which were proven false in court. I-Dle went on hiatus, then made an even bigger-than-ever comeback around Easter 2023. Soojin came back as a solo artist under a different label. This was a multi-layered F.U. to their parent label. OT6 forever.

okay.. there were 6 members in (G)I-dle, but now there's 5. Anyway.. this is gonna be kind of long but here goes. one of the members is playing 2 different characters. but I'll explain their role by order of appearance: Shuhua is both a detective and abused victim. she's the one who appears at the beginning of the video and was getting her neck grabbed. Minnie is playing a rich celebrity who lives above victim S. she appears next. the one who lights the match. Yuqi is playing a musician (the one who is playing the guitar) who lives next door to victim S. Soyeon is the maid/caretaker of the building. Miyeon is Minnie's psychiatrist who just so happened to live in the same building as victim S. storyline wise, the timeline isn't linear (only time it is, is when we see victim S getting abused and fighting back and when all the ladies help her) detective Shuhua is putting all the pieces together and discovered what transpired but decided to close the case as an accidental fire bc she found out that victim S was being abused and that the girls helped her. Anyway, victim S fought back against her abuser, Yuqi hit that person over the head with her guitar, Soyeon was pouring the gasoline, Miyeon stabbed the person with her pen and Minnie lit the match and Soyeon drags the body out. Afterwards, Minnie reports the "accidental" fire and was arrested for suspicious crimes but was let go bc psychiatrist Miyeon, who gave her a lie detector test, told the police that Minnie is innocent and telling the truth even tho the scene indicates that the lie detector is saying that she's lying, Soyeon cleans up everything from scrubbing the cctv to getting rid of the match and of the body, Yuqi had been locked in her room for some time and didn't come out for a while, Victim S covers her face with that gauze bc she'd also been "burned" by the fire and made it out alive but at the end we see her take that gauze off her face which shows that it's not damaged in anyway 😊

you can translate my comment to english. video revenge nya (g)i-dle ini memiliki pesan tersembunyi dalam MV ini. Untuk mengetahui pesan tersembunyi tersebut, kita perlu tahu dulu siapa penulis lirik lagu Revenge ini, sehingga kita tahu sudut pandang lagu tersebut. 1.MV dibuka dengan kalimat "last easter night" habis itu terjadi ledakan plus kebakaran. Pertanyaannya last easter night tahun berapa nih? Menurut google, Album (G)I-dle "I Burn" direlease pada tanggal 11 Januari 2021. Sehingga Last Easter Night terjadi pada tahun 2021 Menurut google juga, Easter Night 2021 terjadi pada tanggal 4 April 2021. Menurut google juga, kasus bullying soojin terjadi pada akhir Maret 2021. Jadi Last Easter Night berbicara tentang kasus soojin, dan penulis lagu ini yaitu soyeon masih tidak terima sampai sekarang, makanya menulis lagu ini. 2.Shuhua sedang melihat papan dengan informasi kertas2. Kalau diperhatikan baik2, pada sebelah kiri ada kertas dengan 6 pasang sidik jari. Anggota (G)I-dle sekarang ini 5 orang harusnya ada 5 pasang sidik jari. 3.Di tengah papan ada tulisan "1 Killed, 1 Hurt" = 1 Terbunuh, 1 terluka. Kalau anda semua perhatikan anggota (G)I-dle mula2 terdiri dari 4 orang extrovert dan 2 orang introvert. Siapa 2 orang introvert ini ? Jawabannya Soojin dan Soyeon. Jadi siapa yang terbunuh ? Terbunuh karirnya saat last easter night yaitu Soojin. Siapa yang terluka hatinya ? Si penulis lagu ini yaitu Soyeon. 4.Di Papan tersebut ada kertas di sebelah kanan bawah bertuliskan 9 Maret 1998. Menurut google, Soojin memiliki tahi lalat dibawah mata sebelah kiri. Apa maksud lagu Revenge ini ? Revenge ini adalah kata-kata kemenangan dari soyeon. Walaupun (g)i-dle hampir bubar pada 2021 karena soojin keluar. Tetapi baik Soojin ataupun (G)I-dle tetap berkarya sampai detik ini. Intinya ini Soyeon mau ngomong walaupun banyak hater ingin menghancurkan karir (G)I-dle tetapi mereka tetap menang dalam karya2 mereka. Inilah yang dimaksud pembalasan dalam lagu ini versi soyeon. Kan penulis lirik lagu ini Soyeon. Jadi kita harus berkaca dari sudut pandang seorang Jeon Soyeon.
