Natacha Océane hey i have a question. I have bad sleep cycle for many years.because of that i can't get enough sleep. I just can't sleep at night .i sleep mostly in the morning. And now i am trying to shed fat. What do you think sleeping in morning is okay? If i just can't sleep at night.
@rahafrab70526 жыл бұрын
Can you do an experiment with protein? Like not having protein powder and lower your protein intake for a week or two. I don't want you to lose your progress and if you think it'll affect it don't do it 😅 just that I wanna know if protein is That important and if really we need to think about having a decent amount of proteins daily or we can't reach the results we want, also some just can't afford protein powders and supplements.

Especially hunger. Oh man nothing is worse than getting no sleep then your body just wants carbs all day. I always eat the worst when I have no sleep. For example I had to fly on Thursday to Michigan and I had a great night sleeping and wasn't as hungry on the trip. On the way back I had an early flight and no sleep and all I wanted was carbs and sugar to keep me awake. Luckily on Monday I was back to normal again, but it's awful.

Yeah I’ve noticed a bit of a trend towards that too - I kind of get where it comes from and I have to be fair and say there are enough times where I sacrifice sleep when things I value more mean I have to (eg if I need to work til super late to prepare for a meeting), and I think as a motivational mindset I can kind of get where some people come from in saying success takes sacrifice in all aspects of life, but I totally agree with you - I don’t think it should be cool or aspirational to live that way consistently ❤️ thank you so much for watching Dena 😊

Also, I don't know where you live but where I live we are in school from 7:45 to 3:00 but my mom is a teacher so we get to school at around 7:00 which gets me awake at 5:30. Gosh this is way too recognizable. I get up at 6am for work every day, and usually get home by 8pm (I go to the gym from work). By the time I've eaten and have prepared everything for the next day it'll be 9pm, and so more often than not, I don't make it to bed by 10pm as I'd like to, cause I'll still want some downtime. End result is that I indeed recognize everything you mention in this video. Thanks for the great quality content!

What a great idea for the video, I hope it will help people realize how important sleep is! I feel like sometimes people use a lack of sleep as a status symbol (like a my job is so stressful, I only slept four hours last night kind of thing), and like you said at the end of the video it seems that people often feel guilty about getting a solid 7/8 hours when it's really a very basic thing to do for your health! And it's definitely true that you tend to have more energy and get things done quicker when you're well rested as opposed to when you're sleep deprived. I even read somewhere that being very sleep deprived is basically like being drunk (and yet people would still drive and make important decisions). Thanks for making this video!

Hey Kallan! Thank you girl, that’s so kind! ❤️ honestly all my intensity comes from being excited to achieve the next thing I’m working towards which I always make sure is something I’m super excited about, like nailing my backflips or muscle ups. The other thing is I train 3-5 hours a week and just make sure they’re intense - a lot of the time people have the impression I train more than that and I’m not sure where it comes from! But that rest allows me to do a lot more 😊 I hope that helps a little in some way! ❤️ and thank you so much for watching and being so kind!

I had about four hours sleep a night for three years, due to a job that started early in the morning and an inability to fall asleep early due to stress. After three years, the lack of sleep, combined with both personal and professional stress, plus not looking after myself at all, lead to me having a breakdown, quitting my job and not being able to do anything for a number of months. It's amazing what eight hours sleep and looking after yourself does for your mental and physical self, I've finally been able to claw my way out of this hole and become a person again. Big hugs to anyone stuck in a situation similar to my previous one, please look after yourselves. :)

My schedule was completely off, on my off days I tried to maintain normal people's schedule, but I would wake up in the middle of the night and would not be able to fall asleep until morning. On my workdays, I would not be able to get 6 hours of sleep either. I felt always tired, unmotivated, irritable, and had a nervous breakdown. Your eyes at 18:18 were just like mine at work, constantly wanting to sleep, especially after 3am. Thank you for spreading awareness!! This is a fantastic video!! The science behind all the issues with less sleep is fascinating. I work night shifts and I feel like this on a regular basis 🤢 thank you for your insights, I'll be sleeping more! Xx

That's good to hear Grace! It's something I always used to look over too so I'm glad this can help! It's really become an issue since our society tries to operate on a 24hr basis! Sending you lots of good sleeps to come xxxx

Welcome to my cabin crew life... I try to recover as much as possible whenever I have the chance, but I feel that for me it's harder to make gains at the gym because of my job. Thanks for this video Natacha. Looking forward to the next one

I could manage challenges that you did - cutting calories in half, burning extra calories out but SLEEPING LESS..... damn no!!! This is next level :)

haha, it's not a challenge i would ever recommend, it's more just to show how serious it can be if you cut the sleep so keep doing your thing! Sleep forever haha 🙌 xxx

That sleep deprivation symptoms were attacked me for almost 3 years after I had to deal with college.... But now I'm at my end semester and got much lesser classes than before, so I have more time to sleep and exercise. I feel MUCH better than before. *mindblown*

After watching this now I really regret cutting my sleep for the last years..... There were so many days that I just felt so low and like laying in bed all day and watching Netflix. The saddest things of all is that I am just 16 years old. Whenever I'd have an exam coming up I'd stay up late till 1 am and get up at 6 to get ready for school. I'd still do good on the exam but as soon as I got home I was ready to pass out. My eyes randomly started to burn bc I was so tired and I felt super week. I sincerely thank you for doing this video, you actually are great and really motivated me to renew my sleep schedule and to stick to at least 8 hours of sleep. You're a great inspiration! Thank you so much

Hey, I know you wrote this like...a year ago, but I just stumbled across the exact same thing. I'm 17, doing a pretty hard school, I totally don't have enough sleep and I was wondering "what the hell is wrong with me, i cant do anything right" and a few days ago I just didn't wake up, i slept the whole day, didn't go to school, and didn't even know about it. That made me realise I need to slow down. However I really don't know, what to sacrifice, grades, time with friends or what.... How did your situation change over the year?

It’s so hard for me as i have chronic insomnia- even when I’m tired it’s difficult for me to fall asleep before 4 or 5am. So functioning in a normal routine, having the willpower to be healthy and to workout is almost impossible!! But great video and has inspired me to take more steps to improve my sleep anyway I can. 💕

This is exactly why I can't stand people who say there are 'no excuses for not working out'! I'm a student and get about 5 hours of sleep on average per night, attend class for 8 hours a day and have to study once I get home. Yes I do have 20 minutes to spare for working out but most of the time I am so exhausted that I'd rather spend that time taking a breather. I used to feel so bad when comparing myself to fitness influencers who had the time to work out 2 hours daily and eat proper meals at set times in the day. Thank you for bringing awareness to the importance of rest!

AMAZING I love how you test out scientific statements! Would you ever consider a week of eating vegan meals? I would love to see the impact it would make on you, your workouts, your body and how you feel!

ugh this is exactly what i needed, I'm seriously trash at sleeping and have had trouble sleeping for the past 3 years :( I've been trying to make an effort to fix it but i think ive just gotten so used to feeling like garbage I didnt think it had such an effect on my life! but everything you've said about your appetite, how you look, and your energy levels (feeling super tired at 4 pm for example) are all boxes that are ticked off for me! Maybe I'll take this challenge and spin it into a "I got a full 8 hours of sleep for a week"!!!

This is such a important video.. from a breastfeeding mom of 3 kids here. I was goin off 2 to 3 hours broken up sleep for months... it was terrible.. I kept getting Sick... I gained weight even while exercising and maintaining healthy diet. With my 3rd ( my son) my sleep was the most compromised of all my kids and I had him and his 2 sisters to look after during the day (and night) no family around . Sleep so important. He’s sleeping better now but feel like I’m recovering still 😆

This is mind blowing. I have been on 5 hours of sleep for past 1 year and can recognize these things you are going through - irritatability, bloating, tired at the gym and last week I was paranoid about getting older kind of suddenly (comparing two photos). Ok! Going to bed at 10pm today. Thank u for putting urself through this!! I would have never put effort into finding out each individual paper and seen the combined effect. 🤯😬
