The first guy is right--men have a desire to be "alpha" or dominant. The problem is our society which says that being a woman/being feminine means you cannot also be powerful, authoritative, or strong. I'm gay and I've believed for years that a lot of homophobic behavior stems from sexism! I lived in Spain for a while and their behavior towards the lgbt community is WAY more lax, like pretty much everybody I met was very accepting--men/women and old/young alike. I also found that the men there were a lot less aggressive/dominating and they were much more inclined to let women hold positions of power and make important decisions. Just some thoughts.

I've been to Spain several times and I loved it: the people, the food, the scenery, the weather in summer.Most of my family is in Sweden & Norway, and going there is always such a relief. Being gay is mostly a non-issue, gay bashings are rare. I've held hands & kissed guys in public and never had a problem, mostly people ignore you. Just the way they have no issue with nudity is light years beyond the US. I would love to live in Sweden or Norway, but I'm a sun lover, and the winters there are long and dark. Spain on the other hand....

I think your partner must be informed, agreeing and relationship should probably be open. Polyamory might be a good solution. Yeah this has spent way too much time in the suburbs, at the mall, whatever ; I've know gay men that were stereotypically effeminate but when angered, could whoop some ass, in fact were quite vicious. You really can never tell who can fight well, since some of the toughest, knowing that they can handle a fight, don't have to prove anything and thus you'd never know that they can scrap.

The biggest mistake is thinking that straight and gay are the only sexualities & grouping then together. Also, mixing up romantic & sexual preferences. U can be homosexual but Heteroromantic and vice versa

When I was 14 I had something like a deadline. When I approached 21, I nearly had a nervous breakdown. Then a very sympathetic professor sat me down and in so many words told me to give up the quest of trying to be straight if it's not me. It's been a long road. I don't think my 14 year old self could have imagined who I turned out to be. But again life's a journey.

Dear people of KZbin, I actually HATE the fact that people think Jesus hates gays or they will burn in hell. Jesus loves everyone and created them for a reason and purpose. If you're gonna go and be like " Christ hates gays you will die and go to hell you disgusting creature" like NO. Just stop. I'm catholic and the fact that many people hate my religion due to the stereotype that being gay is a sin makes me sick. My religion is very peaceful loving and accepting and I'm sure other Christians will agree. So don't glaring and bring bullshit about Christianity. There may be these crazy people that will claim that Jesus hates gays, but that sentence is invalid because there is no Jesus and hate in the same sentence. I don't agree with gay people lifestyle but I have nothing against them. And that has nothing. To do with my religion it's just my personal opinion. And yeah just try to understand where I'm coming from

Nora alhakim no it is not true, and he does not hate gays. Where in the bible does it say anything about Jesus hating anything or anyone. But what it does say is he loves even the sinners. He used to have dinner with the sinners and teach them about God. If you're not christian and you're not educated about the religion. I reckon you shouldn't assume things.

People should just be able to be true to themselves and be able to accept who they truly are without fear or hatred, without feeling like they're somehow lesser humans because of who they are, without having to constantly hide a part of themselves from public. People should just stop judging and hating others and try to get along. Happiness is important. If you can't be happy what is the point? This is the main problem with society these days. We should stop judging people's race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, culture, etc and try to get along. There are many different people in this world but we are all human.

That's cool. At least these days we have more choices than we did in the past. In the past people were expected to be straight, get married and have kids. Now our horizons have broadened and there are many other possibilities and hopefully in the future people will respect others more. Obviously, we're still fighting discrimination. People deserve respect based on character, on how they treat others. People need to show more kindness and just be nice. Some people keep thinking that being gay is a choice but I never chose to be straight. It is just my innate attraction. I couldn't force myself to be gay if I tried. People's brains are different. We don't all work the exact same way. Just because the majority of people are straight doesn't mean that the minority is wrong. As another example, most people are right handed but that doesn't mean left handedness is wrong. These days people don't usually get picked on or harassed because of what hand they prefer to use. Why shouldn't it be the same for other things that some people still discriminate against? As long as you don't go around harming others.

This is very sad. These guys are role models on how young people should NOT feel about themselves. There is nothing wrong with being gay. It is perfectly natural and you should not hate it. Please learn to accept yourself, and if you are having trouble reach out to people and organizations that can help you.
