You could add something in the app , that displays a "might be inaccurate" flag on movies where the difference between the last jumpscare and the movie length is lets say >30 minute. And you could also have something like "Did this app correctly predict all jumpscares?" Question at the end and u could have verified all scares accounted for flags

For my fellow scaredy-cats, another way to distract yourself is to try to be the fastest to react when a jumpscare shows up. The competitive suspense of preparing to scream, slap something, etc helps distract, and sometimes even makes me look forward to it!

I forgot what CinemaSins video it was, but they said that loud noises in horror movies are the equivalent of fart jokes in comedy (heavily paraphrasing). That has always stuck with me.

The thing is about checking the time codes is that some horror movies, especially older ones, have final acts that just aren't that full of jumpscares. Alien, for example, has its last jumpscare 25 minutes before the end of the film and, similarly to alot of horror films of its time, has a final act that's mostly suspense as apose to jumps

You could add on to this idea with trigger warnings where you could select certain triggers that the app will track for you too if there are any in the particular movie at specific time codes too (I wonder if some website keeps track of that like the jump scares?)

You mentioning the fact that the sound is what bothers you about jumpscares coincides completely with my autism and sensory overload. This literally feels like such an accommodation tool for us disabled/neurodivergent folks and I absolutely ADORE it for that
