Its not about you working hard bro. Its about you working harder than everyone else trying to get into the NBA. Lets say all the serious dreamers be putting in them 3 hours, you gotta be putting in 5 to match that and get drafted. And another thing is consistency, no breaks. If you have somewhere to go to, wake up 3:00 AM and put in that work before you go.

I’m 13 years old, I’m 5’4, and I weigh 148 pound but it’s all muscle. I don’t know about anyone else but basketball is my everything. I always say I want to be in the WNBA and I’m definitely doing what I can to get there. I’m pretty sure my friends all think I’m joking when I say that but I’m serious, basketball is my go to thing. For example if I’m bored or mad or have to get things off my mind I go the the court and play basketball. But, I also workout in the gym. Keep in mind, I have school then practice right after and whenever I come home, I get my school work done then go play basketball and workout. I am only 13 years old and I have the motivation to do that almost every single day. Nobody better ever say they can’t do anything. Because you can, you just gotta be in the right mind. “Oh I have to much homework” , “I can’t I’m too young”, “I can’t do it”. Excuses excuses... you can do it just push yourself. If you can’t go to the gym, do at home workouts they’ll work just as well. Do what you have to do to be and do your best. It’ll all be worth it. So, keep you’re head even if you make a mistake because you’ll learn from them. Remember, always think positive!!

2 years ago, during 7th grade, I was 5'11,5 and I weighed 200 pounds. During every year of Elementary school, I'd injure my ankles and force myself to stay inside, and therefore gain a lot of weight. Next year (8th grade) I started practicing with a new team and found an amazing coach that believed in my potential and helped me worked ( 6'2 and 194 lb). Last August (starting 9th grade), my coach offered to help me work on my technique and he trained me personally. As this season progressed, I got better every day and kept increasing my vertical and improving my shot. Now I'm 6'8", I weigh 195 lb and I can almost dunk. In 2 years I went from being the fat outcast, to being an offensive and defensive force in the paint (as I like to believe). Never give up, people!

Not to long ago I 5,11 130 pound white kid. I go to school everyday and get beat down by students teachers and coaches. Saying "Your too weak, you have no skill, you dont have a future." Coming from a family with very little money, I had to teach myself how to play basketball because we couldn't even afford for me to join a 75$ recreation league. I was very self conscious about my skill that I would go to the court at night because nobody was there. That went on for my entire middle school career. Where am I now? Im 6'2 and 157 pounds and is a starting shooting guard for my school. How did I accomplish this? I used what everyone said about me and used that as my fuel. if you say I cant do something, Im just that much more determined to do it. My tips to be successful. Use negitivity to your advantage. And be obsessed with your craft. And work nonstop
