@revelations and visions, I'm going to be honest with you. I'm struggling not to be rude to you rather than treating you like someone who is uneducated in Scripture because I've seen more than one rude post by you. I will make an attempt to be kind to you to the praise of His glory. God has been known throughout Scripture to change people's names. He changed Abram's name to Abraham, Sarai's name to Sarah, Jacob to Israel; our name is equivalent to our identity. That's why we pray in the "name of" Jesus. Isaiah 62:2 and 65:15 are two verses that tell us God will give us a new name. If you are truly saved, God will humble you as part of His work of sanctification in you, but only as far as you cooperate & keep from quenching the Spirit.. He also says in Gal. 3:28, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." The scripture which talks about women being silent in church needs to be taken in context. This can only be done through study, submitting yourself to a godly leader, and learning to "rightly divide the word of truth;" Here's the context for the verse you quoted in another post about women being silent. Paul was speaking to the Corinthian church, where men & women sat on opposite sides of the aisle & his teaching would be disrupted by women asking their husbands questions. This was a culture in which women were oppressed and unschooled. They were ignorant, not stupid, and not beneath the men. Paul was not "putting them in their place." He was kindly suggesting that husbands educate their wives at home and treat them as equally deserving of being taught God's word. Are you married, frustrated by a wife who does not blindly over you? Learn the entire verse that begins with, "Wives, obey your husbands," as that is followed by, "Husbands, love your wives *as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.*" That kind of sacrificial love, the love of true servanthood, is the kind of love a woman will respond to with honor and respect. As the "head of the household" the husband is the one who sets the tone so if your wife doesn't submit to you, it is because you are not truly loving her, sacrificing yourself for her. You are not submitting to her. Scripture also says, "submitting to one another in the fear of Christ" (Eph 5:21. In First Peter, several groups of people are instructed to be submissive (1 Pet. 2:13, 18; 3:1, 7). Peter also tells his readers, “Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to elders. Yes, all be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility …” (1 Pet 5:5). Please listen to me. You can trust me because who God says I am, as in this beautiful poetry from Hosanna: is: follower of Christ, child of God, new creation, elder, Sunday School teacher, Worship Team member, Deacon. I am not called by the names the enemy formerly pinned on me: victim, trafficked, disgusting, worthless, abandoned, rejected, liar, selfish, crazy, stupid, Jesus Freak. (Well, I'll keep that last one.) I am a holy priesthood, a nation called by His name, adopted. Please listen to what I'm saying and let the Spirit who inhabits these words of Hosanna's, "the praise of His people," minister to your soul.

Every word that comes out of ones mouth cannot be scripture exactly, there is such a thing as wisdom which God gives (see proverbs). I appreciate your desire to see biblical content, I also do and I can surely say that all she has said is completely biblically rooted.

@Revelations and Visions they have not failed to do so. Are they obligated to? This is NOT a sermon, this is NOT a song- it is a SPOKEN WORD. AKA- a creative and personal human EXPRESSION of God’s goodness. If it was a sermon or mass then yes I would be concerned if there was no verses but this is a POEM- NOT for instruction or exhortation or correction, but instead to share her own story and connect with others. If you want a verse right off the bat to support what is being said ‘Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a NEW creation. The OLD is gone, the NEW has come.’ -2 Corinthians 5:17. Please let me know which part of this you think is biblically unsound (quote it pls) because I cannot see anything saying otherwise here. Remember that we do not serve the letter of the law but the Spirit: ‘not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.’ 2 cor 3:4-6 (read it in the wider context of the chapter)

@Revelations and Visions a new creation- what about that says that your name will not change? So how can one be new and old at the same time? A NAME by definition is WHAT YOU ARE CALLED BY. God no longer calls us sinners, subject to His wrath (1 thess 5:9; Ephesians 2:1-5). He calls us CHILDREN (Romans 8), He calls FRIEND (John 15:14-15). ‘Once you WERE NOT A PEOPLE (GENTILES) but NOW you are GOD’s people. (1 Peter 2:10). Tell me- what inference do you get from these verses that doesn’t support that we are called A NEW THING?! It is definitely very simple biblical theology, there is no big idea to explain here. Once you were a sinner, now you are God’s own. How then, can you still be called a sinner? It is also simple semantics. By demeaning and trivialising it and say it is nothing more than a ‘skit’- you are actually demeaning the creative capacity and GIFT that God has given to somebody to bring Him glory and cal others to Himself. Please Stop trying to put God in your box and open your eyes and spirit to see Him in the places He is. Because He is 100% here in the words she has spoken.

@Revelations and Visions 😭friend- I am guessing you completely misunderstood the point of this. The poet’s name is Hosanna- did she change her name? No, her name is still Hosanna. So where does she say the Bible says you must change the name you have been given? Nowhere. She is talking about the other names you are called. There are MANY ways one person can be called, not just by their given first and last name. Did you watch the video at all? Because there is nowhere in this video in which what you are arguing about is asserted.
