I'm so glad you got the Long Price Quartet! I would love to hear what you think of them. I've heard good things about Tad Williams. What a great haul. So many good ones to get to!

I have the first 3 books of the Long Price Quartet on my physical shelf already, but never got around to them. But one of your videos lately inspired me to get them again and finally read them. When you've established Voxer I'll make sure to leave you my thoughts while I'm reading them. I think I've started every series by Tad Williams, but need to finish/restart them. It will be interesting to see how the books shape up now.

A great haul! I loved Luna: New Moon and Luna: Wolf Moon. The political intrigue keep you glued to the pages. I really need to check out Terry Pratchett books; they've been on my wishlist for ages! I read Red Sister a week or so ago and really liked it. I have tried getting into the author's first series and just can't seem to get into it but I really enjoyed Red Sister. Dragon Lords: Fool Gold I read when it just released last year an had such fun reading it. It's a bit of a funny, quirky fantasy which doesn't take itself too seriously and I'm really looking forward to the sequel. Sins of Empire is sitting pretty on my shelf but I think I want to read the Powder Mage series first of which I only own the first book.. Grace of Kings I really hope to get to this year.

I'm really looking forward to Luna, as these books intrigue me now for quite a while and your comment wants me to check them out even more. Pratchett is always a great read for a book inbetween. It's fun and often surprisingly thought-provoking. I really enjoyed the Broken Empire series , so it will be interesting to see how Mark Lawrence deals with a female lead. I hope to read Dragon Lords: Fools Gold as a nice summer read. I read in a review that you can technically read Sins of Empire right away, but one of the main protagonists is a side character from the Powder Mage series, so it's adviced to read that first to get the full impact of her story. I'm 1/3 through Grace of Kings and it's a really interesting reading experience. Thank you so much for your comment. I hope you're reading something fun and exciting at the moment.

So many of these sound great! I've had the Prince of Nothing books for a while (but have I read them? nope.), they sound pretty grimdark, but that Steven Erikson blurb definitely hints at good things to come! Osten Ard - speaking of series I've had for a while but haven't read yet XD Glad you picked up Perdido Street Station! It's one of my favorite books of the year so far.

Michael, I know someone who has read Abnett's Horus Rising book and says its awesome. I read Abnett's comic work, but I want to get into some of his novels as well.

Such a great haul. Lots of books I want to check out. I myself can not turn down a low priced kindle book either so I can relate to picking up a lot of books that " sound interesting" Now we just have to find the time to read them all!! Looking forward to hearing your reviews of these books.

Yes, the low prices and often the bundles are really tempting, eventhough I know I might have bought enough books to last me through the next 3 decades already.^^

I've got enough books on my floor to last 4 decades. Plus I also own a kindle and a nook. As my mom says I could have worse habits!!

I AM READY... Will definitely be getting Seven Surrenders if I like Too Like The Lightning. I do hope I will and I think it may be my kind of read. I have a feeling you'll like Fifth Season :) The Daniel Abraham books I read the first one a while ago and I think I went into it with a very different idea of what it was. It's super economic and that's interesting, but that seems to take over from characters and plot. If you know that going in it may be a lot better than I found it though. I do want to continue Terry Pratchett... need to get through so many more! Also have the two Luna books and they sound pretty fab. I definitely need to get back to the Osten Ard series as I've only read book #1 so far and I definitely like a good classic fantasy now and then. I've not read any Jennifer Fallion yet but I am interested in her work for sure. I bought the first Katherine Kerr book on your recommendation the other day so I am looking forward to it :) Red Sister is one I just got on audio so hopefully it's good. I keep hearing it's good, and most of his previous books aren't fab with women so I would like to see how he does with a lady as the protagonist. Oooh I have Dragon Lords: Fool's Gold, it does sound pretty awesome :D Never read any Anne Bishop but I think I'll start with that series too when I get around to it. I have Sins of Empire by Mcclellan too, need to try that as I hope I will like it a bit more than I liked the first series which was just ok for me. YAY, Perdido and Grace of Kings :D Glad you have them as I think they're both great :) Great haul as ever!!!

Too Like the Lightning was definitely one of the most unique and intelligent books I've read in the last years. A challenging, but rewarding read. I think you've read "The Dragon's Path" by Danieal Abraham, the first in his Dagger and Coin series. This series here, the Long price Quartet is a different series that he has written before Dagger and Coin. I've read Dragon's Path as well, but haven't checked out this older work. Yes, ideally I would like to read a Pratchet every other month or every quarter of the year, but I'm slacking. And the Luna books sound really interesting. I think Rachel spoke highly of them. I also want to get back to Osten Ard, due to the new books coming out. For Jennifer Fallon I already own her 4 book Tide Lords series, but I also heard a lot of good things about The Second Sons trilogy. Darkspell, the second Katherine Kerr seems to be a solid contender for a May tbr spot already. Yes, Red Sister is a book I'm really interested in. Just to see what he does with a female protagonist. And I hope Dragon Lords: Fool's Gold will be very entertaining. I've tried Anee Bishop's Others series, but I think the modern Urban Fantasy setting, eventhough it was a secondary world, wasn't for me, so I hope that this dark fantasy setting works better for me. I have read into the first book a couple of years ago and I liked the atmosphere. I think I'm going to finish the Powder Mage trilogy, I still have the last one to read. I've read a very good review on Fantasy Faction for Sins of the Empire, so I decided to get it. And Perdido and Grace of Kings are of course a given now. :)

I think we may have the same book buying problem lol! Yay Mark Lawrence! He's one of my favorite authors (although I also enjoyed the Broken Empire trilogy more than the Red Queen's War). And yes, Red Sister is book one of a trilogy. The second is Grey Sister, I think. Don't know what the third one will be called, but I suspect " Sister" lol. So many great books! The Lion of Senet sounds really good, I hadn't heard of Jennifer Fallon before, but now almost all her books are on my wishlist. Such is life. I've been wanting to read the Luna books, and I own Fifth Season and need to pick it up at some point. I've heard almost nothing but wonderful things about it.

Great Haul. I'm currently slowly working may way through Terry Pratchett's books as well. I just read 'Equal Rites' by the end of March, and I have Mort and Sorcery checked out from the library to also read soon.

Thank you so much for commenting, so I could find your awesome channel as well. :) Pratchett's books are definitely fun and I want to get to all of them. I aim to do one maybe every other moonth or every quarter.
@Ann86dk7 жыл бұрын
I really enjoy his humor, and I can't wait to explore some more of his books. I think one every quarter seems like a good amount.

Oh yeahhh.

I am interested in Ada Palmer's and Bakker's books. I have been eyeing the first three books in Anne Bishop's Black Jewel series, but haven't gotten around to getting them. I love her Others series, so I figure it would be the same with this one. I have to say that I have seen this cover of Red Sister by Lawrence a few times now, but I do prefer the one with the girl in the center. It just matches his other covers better. Great haul😀
@Bittenbyaradioactivebook7 жыл бұрын
I agree on Mark Lawrence's cover. I was just lazy and took the cover from the edition that I bought. With other books, like the Tad Williams and Anne Bishop trilogies I actually got the original book covers, because the new Kindle covers look really cheap and awful. I should read the second book by Ada Palmer soon as long as I still retain some of the complicated plot of the first book. And Bakker is someone I'm really looking forward to. I think the 4th book in his second series comes out later this year, so if I like the first trilogy, there's directly another quartet in the same world available.
@neverendingbookshelf95827 жыл бұрын
They have the first book in Bishop's trilogy at my local bookstore and it's this boring black thing that I have no interest in getting. I saw the bind up in London. That is so freakingly heavy it's no wonder you got the kindle versions😛 Good luck with all the reading😊
