I feel so horrible for Emilia Clarke. What she went through while playing this character is awe inspiring, but she kept pushing through. She loved playing this character so much, and when she got the script telling her how her character was going to end, she said she had to go for a walk and just walked for hours without realizing it. Devastation and shock. But she's such a sweetheart I don't think she'll ever say how she truly felt about Dan and Dave butchering her characrer but I wish she would... so badly lol. Other actors have and it was great.

​@@mariahsj689I don't suppose the show could be the reason for her therapy, there is so many other things, like her ongoing illness. One thing I do know is that Daenaerys is just her passion. When she was treating her illness (she could have died twice from it), she recited Dani's line in Dothraki and High Valyrian so that it could help her brain to kept working and somewhat, kept her alive. This character changed her life and also saved her tbh, so I have no doubt she is important to Emilia.

We're shown a Daenerys who is growing into her own as a ruler and leading the Dothraki against her enemies abruptly go insane and punish the same sort of people she would have given anything to protect. It's not enough that she went mad: she went mad *and* betrayed her most powerfully held convictions in an impossibly short span of time that is narratively unsatisfying.

D&D should never be allowed to make an adaption of a book ever again since they made it clear that they don’t care for lore and stuff which is why it was ruined from the start. The fact that they were gonna make a show about the confederates winning says a lot with how they viewed Dany and her ideals because she’s technically a revolutionary figure and in the ending of the show the script said that “ Tyrion doesn’t agree with liberation theology.” It just goes to show their true views were shown with how they wrote certain characters to act out of character and overall just destroyed the whole meaning of the world of ice and fire. SMH and Emilia fought so hard to be where she is only for them to ruin the character

How can you expect me not to root for her she's the ultimate underdog character in the story While yes jon, tyrion and davos are underdogs too and i love them Jon and tyrion grew up safe and sheltered, sure they were hated by some family members and suffered some abuse but they also had love jon was loved by all his siblings except maybe Sansa and ned loved him too tyrion was loved by jaime and even a couple uncles, they lived privileged lives by westerosi standards Davos is a peasant yes and always looked down upon he earned his place but at least he didn't grow up hunted down with no family Daenerys however started out poor, alone with no family except an abusive brother, hunted down, never truly safe, sold as a child bride, she traveled a continent the hard way, she survived the harsh dothraki culture, the red waste, asaassins, magic, lost loved ones, navigated through traitors and tricksters, earned her dragons and armies with faith, strategy and kindness, tries to help the weak at her own detriment, and what she wants most is just home and family sure after so much suffering she also wants revenge and now she even wants her birth right but that's their world everyone feels entitles why shoud she be judged for it at least she deserves the throne more than half the pretenders and she even postponed it for the sake of others So tell me why shouldn't i root for Daenerys, cuz she killed slavers ? Cuz she feels entitles to her family's throne by all the laws of westeros ? cuz she's naive and sometimes makes mistakes while trying to help people? Cuz her story is cliche ? I take so many years to watch the entire show. And I watch it entirely the last month. My love for this character grow each episodes. Her link with her dragons, with her people. The faith she put in them. Last season, there were things I would do differently than her like… I would team up with Jon since he’s a Targaryen with an equal reign. A king and a queen ruling with the same power instead of watching him as a rival. But the writers did her so bad. Becoming mad and destroying the entire thing for what she was fighting since so many years. The death of Rheagal and Viserion kills me. The death of Misandei brokes me more… but still, I can’t stop to love Daenerys for what she have done in the first seasons. From nothing she becomes a queen in the heart ♥️

I think they could've executed her path to madness way better if they had made it a slow burn. Small signs here and there that she is changing until suddenly she is completely mad. She even said that when she and kit did their final scene together that she was shocked by his tone because she genuinely didn’t know about what happened. D&D have said that they were unsettled by her character ever since she had her brother get killed but they will ride or die for the stark girls getting their revenge on the folks who wronged them but not Dany for some reason. I hope that if George does finish the books he’ll make a better conclusion than what those two idiots did because all they wanted was money and award they didn’t care about the story and then they were hoping to do Star Wars only to get fired

Obviously, he was paranoid. That puts any child Rhaegar had out of the line of succession as well. Also, you really think the Martells would've allowed their sister just be cast aside and her son not be on the throne. Don't think so. The "annulment" doesn't count. Jon is not the true heir. Vasarys was heir. When Vasarys was killed Dany became the true heir. Jon never was because he isn't legitimate, he is a bastard, and his last name should be Sand.

@@Kallena Their marriage can't LEGALLY be annulled due to the fact he had 2 children with Elia Martell who was not dead at the time. Think about Dorne and how they play a factor into it. Just because it was written in some book as a side note, it was "secret", and Rhaegar had 2 kids, his son with Elia being his heir... Jon is not the true heir, the annulment doesn't matter, because you can't grant an annulment when you're married and have kids already. Real life history shows proof of that. Also, he couldn't divorce Elia because it would've angered Dorne. Rhaegar to me seems based off Edward IV who was married apparently married to someone before he married Elizabeth Woodville, which Richard III used that as a way to make Edward's heir illegitimate and then put the Princes in the tower as they are known. So anyways! Mad King disinherited Rhaegar + Visarys is heir + Visarys died = Daenerys is the true heir OR Rhaegar couldn't legally annull his marriage + his marriage to Lyanna wasn't valid whatsoever + he died with no legit heir + Visarys died = Daenerys is still the true heir... It's just actual historical and legal logic and probably has nothing to do with GRRM's fantasy logic 😂😂.

Not only was she vastly uncomfortable and pressured into doing her nude scenes (Those tears in the sex scene were real), but they completely nerfed the story line of her in general. I love the actor, bur I feel awful for her, she must hate doing this show. I think the problem with the character arc was how it was squashed into a penultimate series season. She could have declined in her latter years off-screen just as easily, at least give J.R.R. some head room.

It's funny, as soon as I saw the long night I just- I stopped believing it was real and just kinda gave up on all the characters. I just thought about how I'll be 100 years old and never get to read the book since GRRM is taking his sweet ass time and I just stopped caring about the story all together. So sad, it could've been the greatest tv show in history.

Dany wasn’t raped. At least in the books she wasn’t. But the show runners left out way way way too much. No wonder the show went down hill and I never watched it. Big difference between the source material and the show

She was though... In the books and in this adaptation. In the books she wasn't raped on her wedding night like she was in this series, but she still was by her husband to the point of suicidal thoughts. The writers have rape fetishes I swear to God, it's disgusting. And Emilia's tears were real in that scene, she was so uncomfortable. Thankfully Jason was a saint behind the scenes and made her as comfortable as she could be.

Honestly she should’ve sat the throne, end the series on a dark note(or high note by not making her a random dragon Karen). Having John kill her tho so easy was stupid. At least make it a fight to the death considering how much blood she spilled to get the throne if you were gonna go that route. “oh I let myself be killed in the arms of the man/nephew I love leaving my dragon who’s basically my son run rampant as an orphan after I literally had the rage to burn down a city that took away a lot of the people/dragon sons I loved” what the hell😭? Why couldn’t there be a mad dragon queen’s reign of ash and fire? Not like she could have heirs to continue it. Like what in the cliche halfassed BS 😭 from the start, the good guys didn’t win/died cuz the power of the iron throne corrupted those who coveted it. It would’ve been kinda cool to still have that as the closing motif instead of “oh good guys won all hail Bran the Broken” (also wtf😭 he came out of left field with the nomination) and it’s been years so don’t be mad about spoilers.
