I'm going through ovarian cancer stage 2 all alone. I'm a single mom, 2 major surgeries, 6 rounds chemo and now preventative mastectomy due to brca mutation. What hurts the most is hearing others say, it's hard on your loved ones. No it's absolutely not. My family completely emotionally abandoned and even mistreated me during my hardest, most vulnerable time. They act like my situation doesn't exist, meanwhile I was fighting for my life and not to leave my son behind as an orphan. I think somebody needs to pinch me, cause I think I might be invisible and just don't know it. God is the only one looking after me.

Thank you for the lovely comments. It has been a shock and a living nightmare. Ali went out to the gym and didn’t come home. She was hit by a stolen car and died instantly. She leaves her daughter, who is 10, and countless friends and family devastated but with wonderful and happy memories. She was a wonderful woman. Why do I share this? For the very reason that has been said. The Unimaginable can happen. One of Alison’s and my last conversations on the day she died was Alison telling me she would like to go on more adventures. Fortunately for us, we have been on many in the past. Eamon and Bec live their lives to the full and take their opportunities to experience life, and I dearly hope with all my heart that they will for years and years to come. It’s a lesson to us all. Money and possessions are only tools, not the target. Are you sitting on an opportunity to experience right now? Take this invitation. All the best, from Rob x

Bec and Eamon, I am a 68+ year old man who has seen and enjoyed life, both with people that I have known that are still living, and with many more who have gone on to heaven. I admit to having become emotional over the journey that you are going through. What you both have done through a medium like this is offer reassurance, caring, and love to everyone. And in response, you have a whole host of people out here who care, love, and think of you both often. "THIS" is what the internet was really meant to be. Stories, life trials. and tribulations that each of us are and or will face, but telling our stories makes us a whole lot more human. My wife and I send our best heartfelt wishes to you, we hope that your fertility treatments result in the hopes and dreams that you both have, and just know that we care and love you folks deeply. I have followed your journey for the last few months and you have really touched my heart. I actually just ended up getting a cancer diagnosis five days ago and had to re-watch this because as strong as I am trying to be for everyone around me, I come home alone and I’m scared. You are very inspiring and I will continue to rewatch your journey as I am going through my own to help inspire me and keep me strong. Thank you so much Beck for sharing your journey

Your positive attitude is half the battle…. You’ve got this!! I’ve had cancer 5 times (have a wonky gene)… surgeries, chemo, radiation and yes, I did fertility treatments too with the first one when I was 33…. Once treatments were done and I was given the all clear by my oncologist, first month off the pill and we got pregnant on our own. Even though I don’t wish this journey on anyone, keep the faith, positive attitude and find humour wherever you can. Grab your lip gloss, big girl panties and a ball cap and go give ‘em hell…. Sending you both my love and strength. Xo

I checked my breasts while I watched this, thank you for reinforcing the super important message. My sister was diagnosed with cancer at 28. She had to go into artificial menopause during treatment. She’s now 41 and vitally healthy with two beautiful kids. Keep that positive attitude when you can. And when you can’t, wallow away, rage at the world! All feelings are valid

Same... started feeling around on mine while watching this. My grandma had hers removed because she was getting so many (benign) tumors and they felt it was best to just remove them. My aunt had breast cancer but beat it once the tumor was removed. So I know breast tumors run in my family, I just turned 31, so this definitely had me feeling around on mine. Praying for bec.. she is clearly such a sweet soul.

It gives me a glimpse of hope and some comfort to witness the steps that took place. You are so strong, I hope I can adapt the positive mind set you showed, believing that I can get through this. The thing that is frightening me the most at the moment is telling my parents the news because of the pain it will cause... Keeping you in my prayers 💕🙏

Currently the best ways to (hopefully) prevent/treat cancer are: - breathing normalisation - correction of risk lifestyle factors - healthy ketogenic diet In 1931, Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for his discovery of the oxygen transferring enzyme of cell respiration. He said the prime cause of cancer is the replacement of the respiration of oxygen in normal body cells by fermentation of sugar. Warburg discovered and demonstrated that cancer cells are normal cells which become anaerobic cancer cells once they lack as little as 35 percent oxygen. The cells then start fermenting blood sugar (glucose) as a source of fuel, much like the cells of primitive organisms do. Too many carbs, sugar and processed vegetable oils jacks up our blood sugar and weakens and suffocates the cell walls, thus promoting the very factors that Otto Warburg discovered cause cancer. Khodabakhshi A, Akbari ME, Mirzaei HR, Mehrad-Majd H, Kalamian M, Davoodi SH. Feasibility, Safety, and Beneficial Effects of MCT-Based Ketogenic Diet for Breast Cancer Treatment: A Randomized Controlled Trial Study. Nutr Cancer. 2020;72(4):627-634. doi: 10.1080/01635581.2019.1650942. Epub 2019 Sep 9. PMID: 31496287. The present study was aimed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and beneficial effects of a ketogenic diet (KD) on body composition and blood parameters and survival in patients with breast cancer. In this randomized, controlled trial, 60 patients with locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer and planned chemotherapy, were randomly assigned to a group receiving KDs (n = 30) or to a control group with standard diet (n = 30) for 3 months. Serum biochemical parameters and body composition were analyzed at baseline, every 3 weeks and end of each arm. Compliance and safety of KD were also checked weekly. Fasting blood sugar (FBS) was significantly decreased in intervention group compared to the baseline (84.5 ± 11.3 vs. 100.4 ± 11.8, P = 0.001). A significant inter-group difference was also observed for FBS level at end of intervention. There was an increasing trend in serum levels of ketone bodies in intervention group (0.007-0.92, P < 0.001). Compared to the control group, BMI, body weight, and fat% were significantly decreased in intervention group in last visit (P < 0.001). No severe adverse side effect was found regarding lipid profile and kidney or liver marker. Overall survival was higher in KD group compared to the control group in neoadjuvant patients (P = 0.04). Our results suggested that chemotherapy combined with KDs can improve the biochemical parameters, body composition, and overall survival with no substantial side effects in patients with breast cancer. Cancer patients, as it has been shown by numerous published studies, breathe more frequently than the norm. Typical breathing frequencies in advanced cancer patients are about 26-30, in some studies more than 40 breaths per minute. (This parameter cannot be measured by the cancer patient herself, due to changes in the breathing pattern, but can be easily defined by others when she is at rest or during non-REM sleep. The official norm is 10-12 breaths per minute at rest.) Medical professionals have failed to understand and explain to the general public and cancer patients that overbreathing (or hyperventilation) reduces one’s body oxygen level due to 3 fundamental laws of respiratory physiology: 1. When we hyperventilate (breathe more than the medical norm), we cannot improve oxygen content in the hemoglobin of the arterial blood (red blood cells are about 98% saturated with oxygen during tiny normal breathing). 2. Overbreathing reduces the CO2 concentration in the arterial blood causing a constriction of arteries and arterioles since CO2 is a powerful vasodilator. Hence, hyperventilation results in reduced perfusion and oxygen supply (confirmed by tens of published medical studies) for the liver, brain, heart, kidneys, stomach, colon, and other vital organs. 3. The reduced CO2 value in the tissues produces a shift in the O2 dissociation curve to the left. This leads to the so-called shallow or suppressed Bohr effect (a reduced O2 release by red blood cells in the capillaries). Best Breast Cancer Trial Ever Known: 6 Times Less Mortality. The clinical trial was conducted by Sergey Paschenko, MD, a pupil of Dr. Konstantin Buteyko (the author of the Buteyko breathing method). The study was published by the Ukrainian National Journal of Oncology (Kiev, 2001, v. 3, No.1, p. 77-78, “Study of application of the shallow breathing method in a combined treatment of breast cancer”). One hundred twenty patients with breast cancer (T1-2N1M0) participated in this study. (These letters and numbers relate to cancer parameters. For T1-2: the tumors are less than 5 cm or 2 inches in size; N1: cancer has spread to 1 to 3 axillary (underarm) lymph nodes, and/or tiny amounts of cancer are found in internal mammary lymph nodes (those near the breastbone) on sentinel lymph node biopsy; M0: no distant metastasis). All patients had a standard anti-cancer therapy that included the surgical removal of tumors. However, in addition to this therapy, the breathing retraining group (67 patients) practiced shallow breathing exercises. Their parameters were compared with the control group (the remaining 53 patients). The three-year mortality rate for the breathing normalization group was 4.5% and for the control group 24.5%. Hence, breathing normalization decreased a 3-year mortality by more than 5 times. All patients who normalized their breathing survived.

But I have found myself following, laughing, watching and rooting for you guys all along the way. I started watching you when I was trying to learn how to wire up the electrical system of my van (I did a better job than your first van, but nowhere near as good a job as your second). Anyway, I came for the DC energy help and stayed for the goofy, positive, adventurous energy you guys exude. Eamon reignited my own spirit of "I can figure this out" and Bec you have single handedly changed my attitude about loving acceptance of other human beings. I ramble all this to say, as a 49 year old man, I'm sitting here crying in front of my computer for two complete strangers and just want to hug both of you so hard and give you all the positive energy I have in me. I'm sure you must already know that you have a massive army of support behind you heading into this battle, and I'm proud to count myself among them.

Hi Bec, While searching for something of interest to me on KZbin tonight I noticed your post. I understand what you are going through as a cancer patient because I am one as well. I am a man up in years and was diagnosed with 4th stage kidney cancer two years ago. Six months later I learned the cancer spread to my right lung. Two surgeries later performed by two remarkable surgeons I survived 4th stage cancer twice. After the surgeries I went for chemotherapy treatments. I am now taking immunotherapy treatments as a maintenance drug. My cancer has been in remission for 9 months. There is hope but it is an up and down journey. Staying positive and busy is so important.

Oh Bec, I'm so sorry to hear that you've been going through so much. You are so radiant, such a vision of health and positivity, I will continue to hold that vision of you. I truly believe we can heal anything if we believe in ourselves and put the intentions behind it. 12 years ago, I was bedridden and stuck in a wheel chair for many years due to an assortment of diagnoses, a brain tumor being just one. I was also told I would never be able to have children due to the damage my body experienced from the illness. Personally, it was a very difficult time to say the least. Yet I found taking an alternative route to my own healing worked for me and ultimately lead me to a spiritual awakening. I'm writing this comment to you now 6 months pregnant with my first miracle child, a little girl. 💖 Don't ever let go of that belief in yourself, sis, it is powerful in ways that are hard to describe - until you live it. It’s a grueling journey, but I’m confident you’ll conquer this!
