He looks like so much fun but I kind of anticipate him being nerfed hard over patches. Like, one of the most apparent issues with his kit is that he does the job of long range poke mages, medium range control mages, and to a certain degree enchanters all in one kit. He’s also deceptively hard to engage on because while immobile, he can turn some tables by going into his nami-esque auto buff and kiting you among others.

Gotta say playing mages is my guilty pleasure of league. Xerath, Vel'koz, Viktor and Vex are some of my favorite champions to play outside my usual role being jungle, but now with Hwei coming out i may become a full on mid main because he just looks like SO MUCH FUN!!! And with new mage items as well I'm really looking forward to actually playing mid as a secondary role or maybe even main role! Season 14 looking GREAT!

Try Lawn Mower Gwen! Basically go all-in on-hit and attack speed. Her E gives her a HUGE Attack Speed steroid, and when you pile up other attack speed items she can attack at stupid speeds (3.5+ ATK SPD). You basically use your E for damage more than your Q (Max E first). Runes: Lethal Tempo, Presence of Mind, Alacrity, Cut the Grass, secondaries w/e Build: Attack Speed Boots, Nashor's Tooth => Guinsoo's => Blade of the Ruined King => Cosmic Drive => Lichbane You want some AP since your E scales off of it, I find that Cosmic Drive gives good Stats + sticking power. Same for Lichbane, helping you stick to the target, and giving you a repeatable big hit (since her E basically has no cooldown once you max it, as long as you hit something). The Bork is for survivability, since you don't have the Omnivamp from Riftmaker. Day 2 of Asking :D

The EW is just like a Veigar cage, u can use it to limit the space of the enemy or to get temporary vision without spending a ward. But in team fights EE is just better since it hits multiple targets

Try this build with cd runes, includong minor. Tear start, rocketbelt, liandriay's, goddess, then whatever high ap/damage item. You can spam spells like no tomorrow, you do burn damage, you get a small dash for engage with damage and disengage with EW and allows you to get a lot of surprising kills with your extra range QQ. JUST TRY IT!

QE in not just for farming and zoning, but also it's the highest damage ability, so if an enemy is stunned/slowed, you can use QE and deal way more damage than with QQ. Also you should always be using only QE when doing things like drake
