To hear such a statement, you cry inwardly... Are you waiting for suffering/sorrow to change? Suffering is pressure from outside, and then you exert pressure from inside to escape yourself. When you see that, there is intelligence. That intelligence is the denial of the outer and inner, and therefore you move from where you are. Pressure, inward or outward, will not bring about radical mutation (deep insight/change)! That intelligence can act BEFORE the event. It is operating all the time. Man has not to go through sorrow to change. "When you discover that, it's a divine gift!" 🙏

When one is un conscious, one goes through turmoil round and round. But in the moment, you realise that you can exercise your will and that will is absolutely you and nothing else, and you begin to do everything willingly, there is a change, a shift in everything and the result or outcome becomes very sweet. Only your willingness can change you. Not some pressure, not some information, not some speech, not some videos. Of course, those things may stimulate your willingness from the outside to your within. But your will is within you. And that changes you. Whether you want to change, you can change, or you don't want to, you can still not change, due to your willingness . I don't know, how I wrote this. But after deeply hearing him, I just wrote this down and I feel very light also, at the moment. And I do not want to ever forget this fact, EVER.

There is a proverbial saying that you can’t think your way to change. You can’t just listen to lectures and sermons and expect your life to propel towards progress. It’s only through action. Action is what rewires your brain thus changing behavior. External pressure is actions. In order to not have to reply on external actions to befall upon us, we have to create similar inward actions. The problem is human beings gravitate towards pleasure and escape pain. So we would rather sit on a couch rather than catch up on work or personal development. The inward actions are meditating, fasting, waking up by 4am, exercising, volunteering, reading. Doing habitual mental exercises so you don’t fall into your vices. All this requires energy expenditure and is not necessarily pleasurable. But someone who can do this and stay the course will reap massive benefits and change. Again, we know what brings about change. Its the actions. The question is why don’t we consistently perform them and it all boils down from each of our underlying psychological motivation to seek pleasure more than work.

"The denial of the outer and inner, moving from where you are." This is seeing that it is all one. All one experience. This is wholeness, and the realization the observer and the observed are one. In "seeing" that, the interrelationship of everything is there clearly, and there is no way I can be separate from you. From there, "intelligence," or love, arises. This means giving your mind and heart to this. Your whole being must be involved in this.

I want to raise another point. I _never_ seek to change. I just seek _to understand!_ And when I understand something inside of me, I understand some identification, I understand the _what_ of the _who,_ because the 'feeling' that I am a person _always_ has a certain identity. If I am proud, for example, there are things I am proud _of,_ and those are the source of my pride, and also the feeling of 'being a person'. In any case, if, in meditation, the _what I am_ of the 'feeling' of 'who I am' manifests itself, then I am no longer this 'who' I was. And that gives my brains and my bodies a larger range to act. In other words, _I have changed!_ Or, to be more clear, I only feel that I am a person, a 'who', If I am blind to 'the content' or the 'what' that 'who' consists of. But in full awareness, the 'who' becomes a 'what'. And when that happens, it no longer is able to 'attach', to 'control my body' in blindness. Change therefore happens through understanding. _Always!_ Even _enlightenment_ happens through understanding. In particular, the 'enlightenment' of Buddha happened in him _the moment he understood the source of his suffering, and therefore suffering in general!_ He saw, and he was the first human being to see that, that all suffering happens through attachment. And that is a momentous understanding, which was so huge, that it transformed his entire brains! How? This understanding _silenced all thoughts in him!_ Therefore _there was no thought that could control his body!_ There was, for a brief moment, no longer an 'I' in him! J. Krishnamurti's transformation was the result of his struggle when the Theosophical society tried to impose the identity of 'World Teacher' on him. Through investigating this, and through his struggle, he asked himself whether being a world-teaqcher was a good thing. And when he investigated that, he saw that religions and ideologies, all invented and founded by 'World Teachers' brought about division and struggle. He could see that, because the Theosophical Society made him study all religions, because they believed that there was a common core of deep wisdom in all religions. He came to the conclusion, that being a World Teacher _is a wrong thing to be!_ Moreover, _because_ he knew about all religions through his Theosophical training, he saw clearly, that this 'core of common wisdon' did not exist! And if that is so, then the whole idea of World Teacher collapses! This was _such a momentous understanding_ for J. Krishnamurti, that it transformed his entire brain! And that with _all the pain_ such a transformation always brings. J. Krishnamurti saw the danger in 'being a World Teahcer' in general, and therefore that there is a danger _in all ideologies!_ But he _never_ saw the common root: 'truth!'. That is why he constantly posed the question: 'how can thinking, which produces such tremendous results in science and technology, also cause so much misery in the form of ideologies? He _never_ solved that problem, but posed it many times. But J. Krishnamurti saw clearly the danger in iddeologies. It is what caused his own brain to transform. And, after a period of recovery, which took about 3 years in him (which all people who become 'enlightened' must go through) he began to do the exact opposite of what the Theosophical Society asked of him. He began his speeches of openly _questioning_ things we took for granted. Like that 'thought and thinking', although it brings about tremendous accomplishments, it also brings about division. And so he began to become a 'minister' of individualism', putting questions forward, stimulating people to look inside, and find out for themselves the 'what's' they are, their 'who-s' consist of. In me, the transformation was caused by seeking to understand Zen. I wanted to know, with absolute certainty, what Zen was, and what Zen was about. And when my brains finally understood Zen, my brains underwent a transformation like that happened in J. Krishnamurti and in Buddha. Everybody's brain can undergo the transformation called 'enlightenment. Because we are all different, we all have different issues in our lives. Therefore the way the brains of different people undergo the 'enlightenment' transformation will revolve around something different. But every 'enlightenment' - transformation will _always_ happen through focusing on _understanding!_ Therefore, the road to enlightenment _is not_ through focusing on _change!_ No, it is focusing just on _understanding!_ That is, to try to distinguish the factual from truth. Truth _always_ begins as a fantasy. The only thing that can make a 'truth' powerful, (which happens when it transforms into a science) is that _it does not contradict any_ of our experiences. But, because the origin of any 'truth' is our own mind, our own creativity, and _always_ starts as a _random_ creation, as _a fantasy._ the idea of 'truth' as a content that corresponds to reality_as it is_ is an illusion. That is what Karl R. Popper understood, and which formed the basis of the power of the mind, of all of _really powerful thinking_ we call _science!_ A subject J. Krishnamurti _never_ talked about! But if something is recognized as _factual, only then_ there is real knowing. Moreover, such knowing _is always_ about something belonging to our inner world. We cannot be certain about the three-dimensionality of space, or the four-dimensionality of space-time, because such statements are mathematical, and therefore started as fantasies. But we _can be certain_ that we have a toothache, because we can observe that as a fact! In the same manner, one can be certain about such things as the connection between suffering and attachment, or world-leadership and it being a mistake. Or to discover that there is a difference between nothing-ness and nothing, and that Zen aims to make us _understand_ this difference.
@taniatey29093 жыл бұрын
It's methodical thinking, not 'really powerful thinking', that's why it's called 'the scientific method'. But anyhow, there are many ways change can happen.

Yes this is exactly my thoughts. I've been listening to his videos and many more spiritual teachers actively for the last two years while late 2001 or early 2002 is when I've started to seek. It's an on and off thing like when distraction takes place but all I learn is stored in my so-called memory bank waiting to be triggered by events. Applied perhaps to a minimal extent. But still superficial and dsnt lasts. While I Dnt engage in destructive habits. While external events and people constantly disappoints me and now even the dead whose fault I only found 10 years later. It's quite a struggle to have the total willingness to CHange because I feel like it's also defeat.

I have been listening to K for 44 years! What he says is very simple, but not easy. We are so conditioned to “fix”, be “better”, and some people have other desires- for money, power, but it is ALL to be something other than what we are. See what you really are. Sit with it. Really SEE it. Then see what happens. For me, I couldn’t criticize others, judge others, because I saw myself in them afterwards. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

However, it is not suitable for larger audiences, not for lectures, not for teaching. He is using the language of a sacred person. We need to go beyond his words and seek to understand by ourselves, as he probably would say. I do respect K. But still out of reach for us. This one is a great one. I've begun to really question kirshna now though, I can see that a lot of his logic is flawed. Even though he says he isn't a guru, he doesn't realise how just his pure passion causes you to listen like he is one. He would say "I hope I'm not" and probably ORDER you not to see him as a guru haha. Also he puts independents at a high priority so would just say you were childish haha. Anyway, he contradicts himself. I think he knows it. He knows strongly that there is no conflict within him. just the unrefusable present so even when it would seem he's in conflict. he is not. Because acting with high morals causes him to be naturally, passionate and therefore aggressive. I do wonder how he feels inside.
