I have NEVER SEEN this after disassembling a 1969 Volkswagen Pedal Assembly | Airkewld

The DPW Chassis, a 1969 Stock Restoration with a couple tweaks here and there, is now onto the Pedal assembly which was a total disaster. Crazy how much we tend to deal with issues and not look into solving the problems. But rest assured, we will get it handled and back to OEM or Better.

Those later model peddle assemblies have a number of design flaws. Restoring them is a temporary fix, because of the poor design. VW didn't make a lot of design mistakes, but whoever the engineer was that was responsible for those peddle assemblies should be ashamed of their work.

Can't say I've ever seen the roller channel (5:50) on the gas pedal broken and folded over. Don't think this 69 has ever seen preventive maintenance.
