When leveling the mill from side to side, I place boards in front of the low side tire and pull the mill up to level (before disconnecting from the tow vehicle). The wheels are an important part of stabilizing the mill.

Great video. I am about to install a trailer on my Mill which makes it portable but since it doesn’t have a hydraulic lift on it, I’m gonna have to have a machine on the other end or set something Being able to take it with you is great, but it’s not without problems

Josh, you need a choker they use it in the logging is slip the cable around OK in the class and then hook your end of your cable on your tractor whatever way you go and pull the whole log one shot

why would I show you a pile of logs not properly placed? The mill was there, the logs were place wrong....however..I think you're missing the message here....nobody that watched this video will ever stack logs wrong in front of a sawmill...it's an educational moment...now..if you'd like me to "FAKE" that everything is perfect or make up fake drama...you've got the wrong channel. I show ya the mess ups so we can all learn from them.....I think that's the right thing to do...would you agree? Or would you rather just watch some fake History Channel junk? @@StoneyRidgeFarmer I think you took my comment to personal, didn’t mean any disrespect, I love your authenticity, my thought was why didn’t you just move the mill back the 10’? It wasn’t leveled yet or setup in any way. Just seemed to be an easier than moving 15 logs over. I didn’t understand why they didn’t stack the logs right beside the mill if it was already there.

@@StoneyRidgeFarmer I don’t mind seeing the bloopers pal heck sometimes it’s the best way to learn because you’ll never forget your mistakes although sometimes it can be an expensive lesson learned. Heck just the other day I was loading a dump with my 300A Bobcat with firewood and wouldn’t you know a dang piece fell off the backside of the bucket and took out my window. I even broke the aux quick attach ram by getting stuff lodged in between it. We all have fudge ups you can be upset but all you can do is laugh at yourself in the end. Takes to much work imo to be a Negative Nancy.

I believe more than a couple years ago I suggested figuring out where you wanted your sawmill operation, pour a slab, set your mill & then mill the lumber to build a poll barn over it. Much easier to bring the logs to the mill when it is set up in a permanent location. But I won't come right out & say "I told you so" 😂. Have a great day 😊.
