I think a decent place to sign it is the battery cover. It can be removed to preserve it while playing, and I personally would make a display stand to display the cover with the signature as well as the biifmote. EDIT: I've seen some others say the inside of the battery cover, and while that would definitely protect it, it just won't be seen. You would have to open it up to show somebody vs it just being on there. And like I said you would probably remove/swap it in long, abusive sessions.
