So fun to see the proof of just how subjective reading is. I am totally with you on A Merry Meet Cute and Just Like Home!! And I am definitely adding A Small Charred Face to my radar, it sounds really refreshing!

Yay I hope you love A Small Charred Face, it needs more love. The subjectivity of reading is my favorite part. I love hearing how people interpret it differently.

It's interesting how we can get different things from the same books. I know some of my favorites have low ratings. But you got me curious to look what my worst read book is according to goodreads

Oooh I’m curious what the results are!

Surprisingly I agree with Goodreads - "The Scarlet Letter" stinks and so does Hawthorne's writing, if you want to have a great laugh just read his so-bad-it's-good "Fanshawe." I like Moshfegh myself, I think she is dealing deliberately with difficult characters so they are going to come across as annoying. It's another story when an author thinks their character is funny and "quirky" but they are instead just annoying.

I liked the scarlet letter. Wasn’t a fan of the writing retreat. Couldn’t finish turn of the screw. The sanatorium was meh for me. I was expecting more but I’m continuing with the series. HATED cabin at the end of the world. I liked death of Jane Lawrence well enough but it’s forgettable

@@abbywonder3825 wow we have read a lot of the same books! I completely agree with Cabin at the End of the World. I didn’t like the direction it went

I've never understood why Just Like Home has such low ratings. It was a 5 star for me. Same goes for The Writing Retreat (4.5).

@@booksbeerbeauty753 It’s so weird how we all read the same words on a page but have different enjoyment of it!

The only 2 I've read were The Death of Jane Lawrence and Road of Bones.
