Hi everyone. Can I just say thank you very very much for all your kind words on this video tonight. I feel truly humbled, thank you so much! The big news really for me was being able to retire next year and give myself time to spend on this and all the other stuff in my life. Yes I’m struggling with this illness thing at the moment but I’m sure that’ll sort itself out once I get seen and I’ll be back doing what I love before you know it! Thank you again for your support, it’s really perked me up 😊🙏

Greetings from North Carolina. Feel better soon and thanks for taking the time to brief us subscribers, especially when you're feeling under par. I like the sound of the plan you're working towards. I'm in my second year of retirement and do one big solo trip a year. India and Nepal this year and South Africa/Zambia and Botswana next April. I've though about doing much more video to add to the photography with half an eye on putting something on YT. We'll see. All the best.

Sienna from Cairnryan to Belfast is a brilliant route on a nice day. A lot of deck space on the ferry I was on. They also do a bus return from Belfast to Glasgow for £29 at the moment. They also do day trips to Belfast for £15 at the moment. They used to do trips from the mainland to Belfast and up the coast to the Giant's Causeway (off-peak) Ferry then bus, if you're lucky you might even get a small tour of Belfast. Don't know if they still do it or is it just summer or have they stopped it? Just a thought for you to explore. Get better soon, nothing worse feeling congested, can't breathe and can't hear properly!

Ive suffered from this myself. In my case it turned into a chronic infection of the eustachian tubes which connect the ears to the throat. Get well soon! Don't be too upset about the Toronto-Vancouver train journey. When I did it - admittedly nearly thirty years ago, with a stopover in Edmonton to visit a cousin - much of the first couple of days was through forest. Nothing to see but trees. It was great to know they were there, mind, but as a "see Canada by train" experience, it was a bit disappoinitng. Still, the views opened out further west and Vancouver's definitely worth a visit!

All the best. A really big life change! If you are having a problem with the Euston Station tube, you could try King's Cross St. Pancras! Joking aside my partner suffered exactly the same thing, years ago, during a pretty rough landing. She was diagnosed with sinusitis, and it got better relatively quickly. She is still scared of rough landings to this day though.

Really sorry to hear this Mark. I am going through the same thing. My ENT consultant has just had me on a 6 week antibiotic course (yes, I did say 6 weeks!). He said that would have a 50% chance of working, and if it doesn't then he'll have to perform surgery to widen my sinuses so they drain properly. TBH I have so much misery with my sinuses I would welcome surgery. I have the latest round of sinusitis since mid-July. It started with severe toothache believe it or not, which, apparently, is not unusual. Not that it helps, but I share your pain! GWS.
@pyerseaston4267Ай бұрын
P.S. I can recommend a really good ENT specialist in the Worcester/Hereford area (might be a bit far I guess, but he's brilliant, and I have seen a few over the years...).

Sorry to hear about your issues. I have had exactly the same problems with sinusitis, had it for a long time now. Sleeping is a nightmare. Been using Sudafed sprays for short term relief, but never a good idea to use for more than 10 days! Been prescribed Clarithromycin, which I have to take twice a day. I've also had the tinnitus too, and for me, it has left me almost deaf in one ear - which they are putting down to "ossicular fixation"! Whether that can be sorted I don't know, but I have audiology appointments either way. Hoping it is all linked to the sinusitis and that the medication can help sort it, therefore avoiding needing a hearing aid!

Thank you for the update, Mark - it sounds ideal to retire early and be able to concentrate on what you really love. I’m sure it will help a lot with your stress levels. I hope all goes well with your ENT appointment. For what it’s worth, and of course I don’t know, but it sounds a little like nasal polyps which can block your passages and sinuses and are easily treatable with a course of medication. I’ve had similar in the past and of course flying exacerbates anything ear and sinus related. Hope you’re soon back to your usual self!

I had something similar about ten years ago and, tbh, have never recovered fully but have learned to live with it. I could have had a sinus operation about ten years ago but declined as my wife was having much more scary things happening. As I say, it's manageable but I'll never fly again.

Oh no! Funny you mentioning this, two years ago I developed a problem with my ear on a flight back from Greece. I had tinnitus and problems hearing from one ear.
