Is anyone else out there wondering what those pellets taste like?🤔 They really like them. I love watching the mares and foals, especially when you call their names. I love watching the coats of the foals change into black. What a treasure, learning about Friesian horses has become. If someone had told me I would love watching this a year ago, I wouldn’t have believed them.

I'm not sure what these particular pellets taste like, but ages ago I tried some and they were... not that great. They're kind of like a mix of grass, cracker, and a bit of sugar. And you can't really chew them if you're a human; it's like trying to bite down on very hard candy. So, not tasty if you're a human but AMAZING if you're a horse!

Such simple things make me smile. The fillies are looking a bit shaggy and adorable as they change coat color. And Mathilde sure adores you, just like Lianne did and still does. Minze Tieje is so small and dark compared to the fillies. I love his muzzle and how curious he is but still happy to be right next to Momma. They all warm my heart. ❤❤❤

I love seeing the different stages in the foals growth, Mathilde the oldest has lost more of her foal coat and then down to Minze Teije he looks so little compared to the 3 fillies. You did not have your yellow bucket with the pellets in it, the girls knew though when you shook it lol Thank you for the video ❣️

They are beautiful and their personalities are so varied! Love Mathilde - so beautiful, gentle and friendly. And Marije is a beauty too. The little colt is still stays close to mom, but I'm looking forward to watching him grow.

Karen M2 He does, Minze Teije is the cutest little boy ever! ♥️♥️Because he was the last foal born this year (May 5th) he’s youngest& somewhat smaller than the girls who are all a few months older than he is. The girls were born in February & March, Mathilde was actually born the day we celebrated my little sister’s 3rd birthday February 22nd which I think is pretty cool.😊

I was thinking the same thing. I used to be an artist, (because it turns out that there is such a thing as losing your muse). and I think that I was as attracted by the scenery as I was the horses. Then I got it. I caught the walking the girls and the kids to the fields videos and I was hooked 😁💕👍🏽🧓🏾

@@hfloor I live in Nevada, we GET sunsets!😁 Unfortunately the sunsets have been more vivid and frequent because of the fires all over the southwestern United States. Deadly beauty thing. That's why the channel is such a soothing thing for me. I find myself drifting over to the channel and watching almost like a "palette cleanser" kind of thing, cleaning the soot and dirt of this world away for a while and SO GREEN 😁 I can't thank you enough

Suzical Both Myrthe MD & Minze Teije have the fluffiest foal coats out of the 4 of them. That’s why I call them the little “fluff munchkins”♥️♥️ It’s the soft baby foal hair & all I want to do is run my fingers thru it & bury my face in it lol😄 Nothing like baby cuddle time with the sweetest most beautiful horses in the world!!🥰🥰🐴

One of them looked preggers. Er..with foal. Is that true? You probably announced and I was too busy watching cuteness with Mintze T. Mathilde still likes to photobomb. Lol. Horses don’t see straight on, only from side, so I’ve read. So that means she couldn’t see the pellets at the end of her muzzle, just smell them? I know so little, everything is like a shot in the dark but it’s fun to be a part of all this in a small way. Thank you Yvonne and Linda for being such good sports for me. J Galathorne Yes actually it is!! Reintje is now in foal from magnificent Nane 492, the number 2 Studbook Stallion in the world right after the one & only King Jasper 366!👑 So this next baby will be a sibling to sweet Jildou which for me is pretty awesome because I love Jildou lol. ♥️ Right again, horses don’t see like we do, they’re eyes are positioned on the sides of their head which allows them to almost have 360 degree vision, they can’t normally see something directly in front of or behind them which is why Saly didn’t see the pellets directly in front of her face. That’s where a good nose comes in handy lol. Hope that answers your questions.😊

Hey Yvonne, I'm still catching up with the previous videos. I'd like to ask you a question: I've never seen stall gates like you have in your stables. I think that they're amazing and logical and I wanted to know why don't the horses try to get out of their stalls? Usually we all think that they will get out so we feel compelled to build high doors with bars and such. Can you please explain what is the concept of the stall gate like WHY such a unique design and is it a cultural thing from your region? Is it just your stable that does this? Is it standard for your country. And do the horses have to be taught to not try to climb over it. Don't you have to worry about them getting "hung up" or catching a leg or hoof in the neck opening? I'm so very curious because since I've been watching your channel I've decided if I'm ever lucky enough to be able to build a stable of my own it'll NEVER ever have anything else but this type of stall gate.

These are suitable stables for Friesian horses. The mares never get over it. It is nice that they can eat outside the stall. Their food stays clean. These stalls are suitable for keeping several (young) horses. I wouldn't keep a stallion in it 😄❤️

Minze is so obviously the youngest because he is so much smaller than the other foals. The ladies all seemed to enjoy those pellets. It's a good thing I was eating breakfast while watching this or it would have made me hungry.

Julia Jankowska Yes Minze Teije is the youngest & smallest. He was born May 5th, the last of the babies to be born this year. Marije, Myrthe MD & Mathilde were all born in March (Myrthe & Marije) & Mathilde was born in February.♥️

They let the older horses eat. When they are hungry they are more interested in eating pellets. We wean them when they are around 5 or 6 months old 😄❤️

I am not knowledgeable of the horse diet- are pellets like dessert to horses? Are they considered to be a 'high value' treat? Or is it part of their diet regimen?

Jackie Major Horse pellets are considered as part of a horses regular diet along with hay & grass, whereas something such as an apple or a cookie (horse cookies designed for them) are more of a special treat or snack. Of course there’s different kinds of pellets that horses can be fed each kind pertaining to age, weight & if they’re pregnant etc. Hope I answered your question (the best I know anyway lol😊)

We breed a couple of foals with every mare. After a couple years we sell them. That's why we also ride them and drive in front of the carriage 😄❤️
